We had the good fortune of connecting with Khing Ceaze and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Khing, why did you pursue a creative career?
The freedom. The freedom from the norm, the ability to be unique and not have to worry about conformity. Every artist wants to be himself, whatever that may be, and be able to express that freely. Working jobs you tend to become a prop for the company, a representation of their philosophy and science. I wanted to create my own chemistry with the world, i wanted to be different. I just wanted to be me.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My music has always been an escape for me. I suffer from anxiety and depression and music has been an outlet since i began. It started as a kid, writing poetry and short stories. This grew into my way of not only venting words i couldn’t get out physically, but an avenue to express myself when nobody would listen. I would eventually grow older and start free-styling when by myself. I got to where i am today all thanks to BeatDocta who heard me free-styling while working at Walmart and invited me to his personal studio. From day one he taught me how to structure my music and put me in a few positions to start building my career. After he moved back to New Orleans, I had enough knowledge to keep going on my own and build up.

Was it an easy process? Not at all. Ive had some of my darkest moments during the process of creating. As said by the late Nipsey Hussle, you literally experience every emotion in this. Up down and everything in between. I overcame simply by getting the understanding that if i stop now, im stuck exactly where I am now. I just kept going.

I learned consistency and self discipline through this process. My brand is a reflection of overcoming adversity. Brn Ryl is a reflection of the mindset of being born with everything we need to succeed, our mind and creativity.

Shout out to my team, Gravity One Media Group, for building on the foundation i already had and assisting me in taking my career to the next level.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Man, a week in the A. For me personally, thats easy lol. Monday ill be down at Cru on Peters Street. Strawberry Lemon Pepper wings for me in Jacks Pizza. Tuesday we gone find a Taco Tuesday somewhere with margaritas. They everywhere down here so it wont be hard. Wednesday I probably hit up Little Five Points and hit a few shops and head out to Stone Mountain Park. Thursday catch a basketball game now that the NBA is back. Friday we downtown, dont matter where lol. Saturday hit up Blue Flame. Sunday Brunch at Forks and Flavors out in Kennesaw. Thats the week id plan out, everyday we got some type of action going on.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
As far as people, i have to thank The BeatDocta for even getting me in the studio for the first time. He planted that seed and it grew from there with the assistance of a few people along the way. Most recently i wanna thank the team over at Gravity One Media Group for believing in me the way they do. They really push me to the limits of staying true to myself while still following the guidelines set by todays standards.
