We had the good fortune of connecting with Key Glover and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Key, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success is my faith. Faith has taught me to trust that gut feeling. That what you dream about will come true with faith and consistent work ethic. It allowed me to see beyond my own perspective and glean from others that is beneficial for me personally and career wise. Faith gave me the courage to initiate opportunities that open up doors to my success that sitting back in comfort zone wouldn’t have done. It gave me confidence in my brand and the intention set to help the collective.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am Beauty & Wellness Professional. My art is Hair care. I’m a Master Cosmetologist & yoga teacher. Key Essentials Hair is a space for women and men to come and receive holistic hair care & metaphysical services. Clients always say, “my space is so peaceful & they feel rejuvenated after leaving!” I work on my clients body, soul, & spirit. My specialties are natural hair, hair loss, coloring, and cutting. I offer guided meditation with aromatherapy and chakra balancing, & private yoga sessions.
My clients have deemed me “The Hair Guru”. I noticed that when I started many clients hair issues started from inside and this took me to research more of the spiritual and physical anatomy to see the connection and how to heal it. I want clients to feel good from the inside out. It was challenging a little in the beginning not seeing many hair professionals taking this route in the hair industry, but I knew it was needed. I knew that women in particular needed to know from within their beautiful and that beauty can be manifested on the outside.
Through the years I’ve seen my approach to the hair industry and how my brand is founded be embraced by many other stylist & brands around the world.
I am proud of myself of taking my vision and my own personal experience with hair & scalp issues, low self esteem, and trying to find myself and turning it all around to build myself up positively while building a successful brand and teaching others to do the same. We have the tools already inside of us we just need a key to unlock our potential and a key to lock away all that doesn’t serve our higher self.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well, I will definitely find a nice brunch spot and one of my go to is Ria’s breakfast spot, maybe some shopping at Perimeter Mall, and site seeing in Inman park or Little 5 Points because it’s a array of things to get into for everyone. Maybe dinner off the Beltline or dinner outside on my deck at my home. I love to entertain at my home and the out doors gives a great energy.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Well for me there are two people dear to me that deserve the shoutout in my career success. My mother and son have been two consistent factors of support, encouragement when it’s hard, and love. My mother in the beginning wasn’t sure about my career choice and I felt I had to prove to her that I was serious and that what my faith had revealed was going to work. After, a 1 year my mother begin to believe and has been my number 1 cheerleader since through all the ups and downs. My son though he is only 8 has inspired me to find balance, have fun even if it’s work, and that there isn’t any limits on how far you can go just have courage.
