We had the good fortune of connecting with Kevin-Marie Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kevin-Marie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
As a child, I saw my mom work her corporate career and have a side hustle. After I graduated college, I was blessed with a corporate gig and craved having a side-hustle similar to what my mother had always done. Her side hustle was different from mine, but the idea of having my own money outside of the regular paycheck was a nice feeling. So I did everything from selling Avon, to joining MLMs. It was just in me to have a business. In 2020, I was laid off from my wonderful corporate gig due to the pandemic. Thankfully I already had an established business, so that pushed me to worked harder at what was once my side-hustle.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Kevin-Marie Davis is a self-made business coach. She knew that if she was going to build a business, she would do so around her life—her family. Since 2014, Kevin-Marie has provided a system of support and success so other women, wives, and mothers, can do the same. As a wife and proud momma of three boys, she volunteers at their school and in her community, showing support as an entrepreneur, a mother, and a woman. In 2020, she earned a certification as an Asana Certified Pro, within the Asana Together Community. She offers strategy and implementation education to small businesses, helping them solve common pain points such as planning, managing, and coordinating their work. She is on a mission to help overwhelmed female entrepreneurs to become streamlined solopreneurs with simple backend business operations and processes. Her specialty is teaching service-based business owners how to automate & organize the backend of their businesses in Asana by building out Business Command Centers. Kevin-Marie is also an Author. In her book, Full-Time Grind: A Mother’s Guide to Managing Motherhood & Entrepreneurship Full-Time, she shares her own story — along with plenty of practical advice for moms, who run a business and hold many hats. She believes the principle behind doing #allthethings is to honor your non-negotiables, plan and prioritize by implementing processes and systems in everything you do.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m a mix of introvert and extrovert, some call that an ambivert. So ideally, I’m cool hanging around the house ordering take out and chatting it up with close friends. If it’s summertime, we could hang out at the pool and just relax and bring fun snacks of course. I’m really laid back, so I’m happy just lounging. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
