We had the good fortune of connecting with kenny Laborde and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi kenny, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I honestly don’t really think I had a choice because to me it feels like I was born that way . it is almost like everything I was interested in as a young boy and teennager lead me to this path. growing up music and hustling was always my two favorite subject . I think that’s why I fell in love with it and accepted that journey for my career.also I like being a creator just like my father who’s is the ultimate creator.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art and my sound stands for freedom , Harmony , Peace & Love.I think what really sets me apart is God I think my relationship with him is my greatest asset.But musically speaking I have amazing backgrounds in almost every genres of music from Caribbean Music , latin Music , African music , house music etc… That influence allows me to be more creative in sound compare to someone else who was not exposed to certain sounds.

I am mostly proud of my Growth as an individual , as a dj , and as a student of life. I am not somebody who really big on celebration for the things I do or create. Because I tend to enjoy more creating than to enjoy the creation .I know some of you guys reading this will be able to relate to that part .

Well I got to where I am today professionally because I started to Learn how to trust god and myself a little bit more. I believe that he has plans for my life and thing that he want to get out thru me. When I realize that I decided to start working towards getting closer to him while making changes from my daily life to align more and more with those plans each day. I had so many challenges , so many betrayal , so many divisions and hatred but I always try my best to not let them destroy me , I just let life unfold itself while I learn to grow and sharpen myself to go try again . I truly just decided to keep going ! with the help and support of my peers of course.

Some of the major keys ive learned along the way are
– Learn yourself & Life , there’s principles there’s rules and there’s ways to get everything we want that is good for us we must take time to learn how to
– Love yourself & be patient . confidence come from growth and acceptance so be patient with yourself and love the F out of you because you are imperfectly perfect .
– Try your best everyday and if you can’t today , be sure to try again tomorrow.
– Put your trust in god and yourself not on other people.

My brand represent the sound of all races , all gender and all nations , especially the afro-Caribbean Voices . I want the world to know that my music and Work represents , Love , Life , Freedom , Peace & Harmony .

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
honestly atlanta is the real city that don’t sleep lol If any of my friends come to town for a week long I would take them to first :

Monday we going to magic city and we going to panache Mondays

Tuesday we going to get some tacos at Sage lounge in Marietta and end at Bamba Tuesday

Wednesday you can’t be in atlanta to not do a karaoke night so I would take them to Link up & Chill karaoke and game night at grand lekki

Thursday would start the day visiting some museum , have dinner at Rocksteady and have them put their dancing shoes on to come Dance at Afropiano Thursday (afrobeat vs amapiano thursday night) at Livingroom

Friday would start the night at House of Vibes And end it at Euphoria Fridays on Buford hwy

Saturday – definitely some international vibes at Ipg Saturdays

And Sunday we going to take some pictures in the city and end up at rum punch brunch to start the day

Atlanta is absolutely and entertainment city, there is too many dope spots and activities to do here , they would have a ball

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
the list is very long for me , because I think it includes everyone that I ever met , worked with or came across. I believe every single one of them played a role into helping me finding my path and becoming me.so thanks everyone but if I had to give a special shoutout it would be in that order . 1. god 2.my family . 3.my friends 4.my team & all the promoters that continously working and pushing me to go higher. 5.and last but not least all my fans & Supporters who relate to my work and art.`
