We had the good fortune of connecting with Kendall Dorion and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kendall, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
Wow! This is a great question, and honestly one I’ve never thought about. I’ve only ever thought to keep going, continue to elevate. This year, as a matter of fact my theme is “offense”. When I first opened my practice almost three years ago, I was doing a lot of “defense” thinking; how do I do this and that, it was all coming at me at one time. But I soon had a paradigm shift in the way I was thinking about my business. I started to look at it from the perspective of how to be in front of my business, and see things before they happen, understand what and why things are happening, and most importantly I had to remember to have fun! I began celebrating the small steps and progresses that were happening around Adjust Atlanta. I always had the consistency, which is huge in being an entrepreneur, I’d dare say that’s step one, but step two is definitely keeping your head up and only considering the big payoff of the “keep going” mentality. And that’s not just financially, but the mental freedom, work-life balance (spending time with family, or having time to create a family), and much more. In essence, you will always keep going when you’re doing something you believe in, or has the potential to change your life and the lives of those around you. I wouldn’t even consider the latter.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Adjust Atlanta is a modern chiropractic business that focus on wellness and relationships. We are unique in the right that we are the best! We love all of our patients are make sure they know that whether it’s their first visit or 50th! Without our patients, there would be no Adjust Atlanta. If I had to choose one thing I’m most proud of it’s how we’ve grown and our patients have grown with us. A lot can change in three years, and we’ve accomplished more than I can physically put down on paper, being highlighted in Voyage ATL, having fresh kick Friday’s in our office and keeping up with the ever changing times of Covid, it’s kept us on our toes to say the least, and it’s made us better and allowed us the opportunity to think outside the box. As business grows and changes one of my biggest takeaways is to not get rattled over the uncontrollable. Handle it and don’t look back! As Adjust Atlanta continues to make it’s mark on the world I want people to know none of this was handed to me. I’ve had many sleepless nights over birthing this business and it’s one of the biggest things in my life right now. I take it seriously, and I’d like for people to know that’s why I give 150% of myself during every adjustment; taking time to understand your desires in treatment and delivering on that each and every time. You will see much more of us in the near future, just keep your eyes peeled and your ears perked, we’re working on some great things at the moment!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love this! People come in town to visit me all of the time and I have my top spots that I like to take them to. The first place I like to go is The Battery, There are tons of restaurants and bars to choose from, and if its in season we can catch a Braves game. I love to eat so if we are looking for Brunch (my personal favorite) Im without question taking them to Breakfast at Barneys, one of the hottest all day brunch spots in ATL. If we are lucky we might see a celebrity or two (insert wink here). If we are talking drinks, W midtown is the place to be! The decor is chic and posh and the drinks are just as swanky. It also has a very nice social scene, so all three elements work together. Krog street market is another one of my go to’s. If you take walk around the area you get a chance to see the diverse art and what makes ATL one of the best cities in the world. Since we are in the area, if you aren’t hitting up the Beltine and Ponce City Market then what are you doing? Take the elevator to the top and experience amazing views and a carnival games, putt put tgolf and even a huge slide (for big kids like me)! The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Even though this journey is a marathon, and I’ve been a bit of a nomad, there have been so many great people and minds that have helped me along the way. I’ve got to shoutout God who’s had His hand on me since I was a young boy. Though I didn’t understand a lot of the “why”, it’s led me to such a great place in this life. And I couldn’t do any of it without the love and support from my wife and children. They are a lot of the fuel I need to keep going. I have been fortunate to also have a wonderful group of friends around me who I am able to use as a sounding board and to help me be more of my creative self and ideate when it comes to standing out in a world that can sometimes be black and white. My story is quite unique, from a broken family to homelessness and divorce, I’m sure I’m not the only person who’s experienced or faced some of the se same hardships, but life has a way of bringing things around full circle and I’m grateful for the gift of life, shoutout to you!
