We had the good fortune of connecting with Kaylie Ramsey and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kaylie, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
The dictionary defines “legacy” as a thing handed down by a predecessor. The handing down of faith, compassion, and truth is what I want to leave young ladies and youth all around the world. I want people to remember that I exuded faith, compassion, and truth. Having and keeping your faith in Jesus Christ and the gifts He has placed within you, no matter how low it gets, will always triumph over fear. Compassion for all will continuously keep you humble and respectful, which makes for a joyful heart. Lastly, speaking your truth without a bit of shame will keep you free.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a teacher 365 days a year. Whether is actually in a school classroom or working The Butterfly Effect: Young Ladies Ministry. I teach by nature. Managing my teaching and ministerial life has actually been fun. The common denominator is always teaching. The Butterfly Effect: Young Ladies Ministry is my space to be creative and serve the local community. We provide services to surrounding public schools, that benefit both teachers and students. We also provide support to young ladies all over Georgia by hosting events. From feeding families to serving schools, we desire to remind everyone to “bthebutterfly”! Although there are many positives, obstacles do occur. I find these obstacles to be lessons and a time for the building of character. Through all the obstacles, I have learned the importance of persistence no matter the challenge. Having faith is also key! Along with having faith in God, having faith in yourself is important. I have learned numerous times that if I am not confident in what I possess, no one else will. Now, actually being where I am today was unplanned. I had no desire to work in ministry. I intended to teach for the rest of my life. I say all of that to let whoever reading this know that your destiny will chase you, but not stop you. You are the only person that can stop and receive your destiny. It is perfectly fine to restart, renew, cancel, or change. I’ve personally done some “restarting” in my own life, and I’m only in my twenties. No matter the age or previous history, I believe you have the God given right to get to your destiny… you just have to receive it.
Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
In the Atlanta Metro area, something will always interest each person that visits. I personally enjoy the food and activities of the area. Some places I’d take a visiting friend to are… River Tubing down the Chattahoochee River. The Cheesecake Factory for delicious cheesecake. Tanger Outlets for shopping at the best clothing stores. Top Golf for an indoor golfing experience and great food. Atlantic Station for the premium shopping and sweet treats.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to honor and shout out my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Without him, I am absolutely dysfunctional. Secondly, to my mother for her continuous love and prayers. Even when she doesn’t understand my “why”, she is there. Thank you mommy! I love you. Next, I’d like to highlight Veleka. She is my mentor, dear friend, and a certified business women taking over the marketing/ media game. Its an honor to work for and with her. Lastly, to my friends, family, volunteers, partners/sponsors, and Butterfly Squad for their continuous support. They are the ones that truly help me make it happen! Thank you.
