We had the good fortune of connecting with Kalun Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kalun, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
I don’t think people understand how much time producers have to study the game. Everyday there is a new sound being created and we have to be able to adapt. If not then you eventually become irrelevant. So in my eyes I just think people are unaware of the time and dedication it takes.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets my production apart from others is that I look at it like a painting. Each sound i lay down is a stroke from a paintbrush. I’m painting a canvas when I’m producing. Step by step.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
In Valdosta I’m not gone lie we going to the studio for a good time. We going to A-town wings cause I love wings. And I don’t drink so that’s out the window.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shoutout to my parents. They have really shown me the way when it comes to production and life. Their always teaching me and always there when I need them.

Shoutout to MAG at Valdosta State University for believing in me and supporting me.
