We had the good fortune of connecting with Kadijah Hopson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kadijah, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
In my mind, all I was thinking was, life is too short and nothing in this life comes to you, you have to go get it. That was also the reason why I went to college for business because I don’t want to just make money, I want to have the knowledge to manage it.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a rap artist and I feel that my sound is comfortable over various sounds and production styles, and I have the skills to—deliver, flow, and clarify. It also points to awareness, which in a more intangible way is what really makes me a great rapper.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well, I come from a really small town and I feel that the only activities we can do is eat, go bowling or go to the movies. The best food spots in my town is Carini’s which is an Italian restaurant, they got good wings, pizza, and cheesesteaks, another good place is Abner’s and they are a soul food restaurant and everything is good, I always get something different every time I go.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First I want to thank God, for giving me the strength every day to go out and be the best that I can be. I want to shout out my manager Free, without him I wouldn’t have taken my rapping career seriously.
I also want to give thanks to my family who supports me and are always there for me.
