We had the good fortune of connecting with Kace Vereen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kace, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
The idea for Be Undeniably Great (or BUG for short) came to me one day when I literally felt undeniably great! It’s a feeling that you get when you realize that you are constantly elevating towards the best version of yourself and no one can deny or take your greatness away from you. In that moment I realized that I wanted to spread this feeling with the whole world, so BUG became a way for me to spread my love for physical, mental, and financial wellness through a (very fashionable & dope) brand! In Phil Knights book “Shoe Dog” he described him creating Nike as a way to leave a mark on the world, that is what BUG is to me. It isn’t a brand it’s a movement. Knight also said that it seemed that the idea for Nike didn’t feel like an idea, but like a person or place that has yet to be discovered. He said it was “Waiting for me, but also hiding from me.” That is the same feeling BUG gave me when it first entered my subconscious. The idea is to spread greatness.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
So outside of BUG I am a personal trainer & an active investor in crypto/stocks. I’ve been personal training for four years now and I get so much satisfaction from being able to help so many people transform their life and health! When you love what you do it doesn’t feel like a job or a means to get by, it feels like an honor. I’ve been an investor since March 2020 and since then how I view the world and money has changed drastically for the good. I have been so blessed to have the ability to learn all that I have and help others on their journey as well. It amazes me that financial literacy isn’t a subject in school. There’s so much that the education system doesn’t teach us that makes us unprepared for things in life. I care so much about physical, mental, and financial wellness because I’ve had to learn so many lessons on my own that I wish someone would’ve told me. That’s a the main reason for BUG. It’s a brand that’s here to promote physical, mental, and financial health in everyone. I couldn’t think of any other brand that put emphasis on all three of those so I made my own. All I want is to see everyone Be Undeniably Great!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Favorite spots in the city? Hmmm? Okay if my bestfriend is in the city here’s what where we’re going: Food- Rosies cafe, Atlanta Breakfast Club, Pitboss BBQ, 26 Thai, Kelz Kitchen, American Deli, Slutty Vegan, Grindhouse Burgers, Atlanta Fish Market, 101 Steaks, Mezza Luna Entertainment- GA Aquarium (for the vibes), Lenox (cause apparently thats a tourist spot lol), High Museum (Gotta appreciate some art), Little 5 Points (for the culture), Hawks/Falcons/ United game (for the city), Magic City (for culture/art/vibes), Trap Music Museum (for the trap), The artsy side of Decatur (for the art & coffee shops), Stone mtn The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to shoutout my Mother who is the physical embodiment of this movement. She raised me on two important principles: accountability & initiative. These principles laid the framework out for the man that I am today. As a Black woman and the main provider for her two boys, her hustle and grind set the tone for the rest of my life. She showed me that no matter how hard it gets, there is a way out! She proved that no matter how many people doubt you, if focus on you and what important to you that you WILL become Undeniably Great! She is so humble, kind, & strong. What she’s been through isn’t a reflection of who she is. She’s truly a beautiful person inside and out. I wouldn’t be where I am without her example. Shout out my Mom, I love you.
