We had the good fortune of connecting with Jui Patil I Architect & Educator and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jui Patil I Architect & Educator, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
“Love what you do, orelse dont do!” has always been my thumb rule in life. Creativity was in my nerves since i was a child. Creativity and freedom goes hand in hand. I realized back in my college days that I need to be given a freehand to practice as a designer and that I can never stand a controlling boss. Thats where the idea of practicing independently began to grow in my mind and i decided to form my own company.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Business is never easy. The world just sees the fancy side of your life, taking vacations whenever you want to, traveling, sleeping at your own time schedule but there’s a lot of struggle behind all these. I was always good in balancing throughout my college life. I was the spoilt backbencher still quite good in academics. The same rule applied even in business. I will be seen vacationing yet meeting all the deadlines. Punctuality is another quality that runs deep within me. I never waste time and have mastered the skill of prioritization. One must know exactly what needs to be done when to achieve a balance. I have always believed in growing with others. Jealousy, competition does not exist in my dictionary. I have always hoped for everyone around me to get benefits. That is maybe the reason why we have got an excellent reputation in between all our contractors and vendors with respect to timely payments. I strongly believe in what goes around, comes around so working with us have always been very easy and comfortable for everyone.
Yes there were many challenges. Indian society is still a male dominated society. Initially a young girl like me wasnt taken seriously at all. But by God’s grace, sailing through the tough times and meeting those few good people who saw me beyond my face, we built a strong work portfolio of over 150 successfully completed Interior designing projects.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Yes offcourse my family members have been a big support system in my dreams. Although i had to build everything from the scratch because none of my family members had any background in the field of Architecture and Interior designing but I always received the mental boost from them to work hard and achieve it all.
