Meet Juhhad Leone: Hip-Hop Artist & Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Juhhad Leone and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Juhhad, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
I don’t ever think it’s an option to give up! not even in the cliché way. I think if something’s not working out it can be a chance to rebrand or reinvent the passion. Take a basketball player who came in the league as a high flyer but as they age the either adjust when the athleticism is gone or they fade away. it’s the same in any field adjust to fit in or fade out. life fades regardless and I refuse to fade before my time.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
So often it gets confused that I personally am Juhhad Leone. my name is Jordan Lee just a co-owner of ThingsGetBetter with my partner Arryn Brown. Juhhad is a character created by us to tell our stories. At this present moment in time is Juhhad Leone is an alien in the same family as George Clinton and Parliement Funkadelic, the same lineage of Outkast, Rick James, The Neptunes and many other space musicians sent before him. He hails from a planet called “Northside” (which is the name of my hometown) and was sent here to earth during our darkest days to restore dance floors and the funk to heal the planet from it’s own destruction, Imagine Shaft in space. The entire album was written as a soundtrack to this made up story in my head. Juhhad being “God’s favorite Astronaut” is own earth to do a specific job when he falls in love with this woman who helps him experience love, lust, vice, and heartbreak for the first time. In the end when the mothership calls him home she has to decide if she would leave earth or leave with him. which is the story of my upcoming album “Earth was so cool”. We have an entire universe based around this like your favorite shows and books. All my artist are all from different world with their own story lines. We makes us different is that we’re having fun.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Honestly since we’re based out of the country and don’t have what you would call tourist spots, I would take the homies somewhere where you can get good food, good drinks, good laughs, and have an overall good time. A family cookout. Where I’m from everyone is related so it’s no telling who may pop up. you may get an uncle you haven’t seen in years come up and tell you an hour worth of war stories from his days in the streets. You may get a day long Lebron vs Jordan debate or a top 5 rappers of all time debate may lead to hands being thrown but where I’m from that family experience replaces the thrill of an attraction. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My entire support system deserves a shoutout to my business partners and brothers Arryn Brown, Khris Johnson, and Natshuan Charity. Then my sisters Shel and Mariah who believed in the vision before it was what it became. My parents who allowed me to dream but most importantly my bestfriend Austin Baynard even in his passing he left me behind his drive and i am forever grateful for him.
