We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Kallenbach and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jessica, how does your business help the community?
My hope and prayer is that my art with Nature of Joy impacts everyone who comes in contact with, whether it’s with a simple glance at my website to take in the beauty of the pictures, if they watch my YouTube with their coffee for a moment of peace or they purchase an item for their life to remind them of the beauty found in life.

I started Nature of Joy several years ago because I wanted to capture the beauty that I saw all around in my garden and I was moved by the colors, shapes and artistic detail in all creation.
I wanted a way to beautifully share the glory of God through photography, drawing, painting and speaking the holy scriptures in my YouTube videos.
The art that has come from inside my heart impacts me just the same and I need it as well.
I wanted to create something I loved and wanted to look upon.

I hope that with a world that has seemed in constant chaos that anything you see with NATURE OF JOY will bring a beauty and calm to any heart that will be open to it.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I think all artist have something so very special because their is only ONE them. So what they dream and create is so uniquely a reflection of who they are. My art sets me apart because of who God has created me to be. Art for me for me first starts at the heart level….where God speaks.
And it’s what I hear there that I endeavor to bring to life through the artistic process.
I want my art to be something that stands out as beauty others too can feel at a deep heart level.

I got to where I am today by not giving up and I still have so much more to do and so much more to create.
I feel like every day is an adventure. You have to keep moving forward and not compare yourself to others, or think of what you can and can’t do because of hurdles or obstacles.
You have to know why you are doing what you’re doing and don’t forget your “why” ….no matter what comes your way.

Was it easy?
Yes and No .
Art is so beautiful and enjoyable to create but it takes time and focus.
Your art should be easy because it flows from your heart.
The work part is more in getting your work out there and the continuing to move forward with your vision no matter what.
The hard part is refusing to pay heed to the negative thinking and unhealthy self
criticisms.
I have learned that you have to just create and not get in your head about it. Everyone’s artistic journey is so different and beautiful.

I want the world to know I am trying to share in the humblest of ways the truth that has set me free and I am using my art to do just that in the hopes that it will impact another’s heart and soul.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love amazing food! Some of my favorites are THAI Garlic in Newnan.
I love the food and the environment there.
We would go hiking and looking at gardens local and The Atlanta Botanical Gardens is a favorite.
We love going to Ponce city market and eating at Botiwalla and getting a chai.
The all time favorite for us is having friends and family at our home retreat cabin in the woods and cooking dinner and talking.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
When I look around at all the beauty in creation with the details, colors, shapes, sounds it amazes me and inspires me to create. The love of God that changed my life over 20 years ago has completely shaped my entire art journey.
It’s not just a one time change- it has been a daily inspiration and encouragement from the quiet moments spent with God.

I am inspired by this verses in my art: God created everything through Him, and nothing was created except through him. John 1:3

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities and His eternal power and divine nature have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. Romans 1:20-21

My incredible husband that has been inspiring me for 22 years to go after all that Christ has placed in my heart.
To live full of life and adventure and to dream again.
He is a gift in my life that is total inspiration to me.
