Meet Jerrick Rose | Board Certified Pediatric Dentist and Entrepreneur Dr. Jerrick W. Rose

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jerrick Rose and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jerrick, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I am from Brandon, Ms. My background and upbringing makes me who I am. My father was killed when I was three years old. My step father abused me and I was adopted out of foster care from my grandparents at the age of seven. My grandmother not only believed in me, but also thought me that I could be and do anything I wanted regardless of my circumstances. I was. taught several valuable lessons and My childhood traumas have molded me into the man that I am.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am a board certified pediatric dentist. I have been in private practice for over 7 years. I was the first African American class president in the history of The University of Mississippi Medical Center School of Dentistry. I attended Blair E. Batson’s Hospital for Children Pediatric Dental Residency where I served as Chief Resident. I completed residency in 2014 and went immediately into private practice. I serve all communities and socioeconomic classes. I have treated over 20,000 patients, including children and special needs adults, in my 7+ years of private practice. My practice is known for providing the best care regardless of a patients needs and background. I pride myself on giving the best care possible to my patients and sincerely creating a lasting relationship with my families. My practice is very involved in the community from job fairs, to health fairs, to mentorship programs, etc. This journey has not been easy but very well worth it. Consistency, honesty, and hard work were the key ingredients to overcome any challenges. These ingredients continue to play an integral role in my professional growth. I have used my economic growth and connections to grow more entrepreneurially . As well as a board certified pediatric dentist, I am a serial entrepreneur. I am the owner of several commercial and residential investment properties I have also recently opened a french americano bistro, LaCour Kitchen and Bar. I’ve learned anything in this world is possible when you heart, mind, and work ethic are in the same place. I would like my life ad .professional career to be a testimony to the world, especially those that look like me, that you can be and do anything you want!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Man this is easy and hard all at the same time. I’ll just list my favorite Atlanta places to visit. FE hookah Lounge Buckhead, Harolds, 5 Church, Skyline park, Chateau Elan, The Ivy, Peters Street, Boogaloo, Del Friscos, Top Gold, Sivas, Bar Taco, Poor Calvins, Mint Lounge, The Garden Room

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My grandmother, Norma Jean Palmer, deserves my shoutout! My “Mimi” adopted me when I was seven years old. I was victim to abuse by my stepfather and she was my saving grace. Every good thing in my life originates from her upbringing. She instilled honesty, loyalty, hard work, and pride into me. She worked night and day to insure I had everything I needed and most things I wanted. Mimi believed in every dream that I’ve ever had and at the age of 82 she is still believing!
