We had the good fortune of connecting with JayBee Briggs and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi JayBee, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Well I had gotten out of shape and started working out again because of health concerns. A friend thought I was inspiring and set up an LLC for me. I did not want to disappoint so we created Better Body Better Me Fitness. So to be honest there was I was just winging it to not disappoint a friend.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m JayBee the FitTrainer, and I run Better Body Better Me, an online fitness app designed to help people take control of their health, no matter where they are in their journey. What sets my business apart is that I combine my years of experience as a personal trainer with my passion for education—not just about fitness, but also about building a strong mindset. I believe fitness is more than just working out; it’s about creating sustainable habits that transform your life.

My journey hasn’t been easy. I started as a personal trainer, building my brand from the ground up, and I’ve faced financial challenges along the way, especially as I worked to grow my gym. But I never gave up. I turned my struggles into learning experiences, expanded my business online, and found new ways to help people beyond the traditional gym setting. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that adaptability is key—whether it’s in fitness, business, or life. You have to be willing to pivot, learn, and keep pushing forward.

What I want the world to know is that Better Body Better Me isn’t just another fitness app—it’s a movement. It’s about empowering people to become the best version of themselves, physically and mentally. My goal is to make fitness accessible, enjoyable, and life-changing for as many people as possible.

If you’re ready to take that first step, I’m here to help. Let’s build a Better Body and a Better Me together!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
That sounds like a great way to showcase the best of my city! Here’s a week-long itinerary packed with great food, fun experiences, and unforgettable moments:

• Afternoon: Explore a scenic park or beltline area, rent some bikes, and take in the views.
• Evening: Hit up a rooftop bar for a sunset drink, then grab dinner at a trendy spot with a mix of great food and a live DJ.

Day 2: Fitness & Fuel
• Morning: Start the day with a workout session—either in my gym or through a Better Body Better Me app challenge.
• Afternoon: Grab some post-workout smoothies, then visit a local spa for a recovery session (think sauna, massage, or float therapy).
• Evening: Take them to a classic steakhouse or seafood spot for dinner, followed by a lounge with live music or spoken word poetry.

Day 3: Adventure & Thrills
• Morning: Road trip to a nearby hiking spot or go zip-lining.
• Afternoon: Hit a cool, interactive museum or aquarium.
• Evening: Get into some nightlife—maybe a speakeasy or a high-energy club with good vibes and great cocktails.

Day 4: Cultural & Local Gems

Day 5: Chill & Catch Up
• Morning: A late start with brunch at a soulful breakfast spot.
• Afternoon: Hit up a cigar lounge, gaming spot (like TopGolf or bowling), or just relax with a backyard BBQ.
• Evening: Movie night, rooftop cinema, or just a lowkey dinner catching up.

Day 6: Sports & Fun Competitions
• Morning: Morning workout, then breakfast at a classic diner.
• Afternoon: Attend a live sporting event (NBA, NFL, or a fight night).
• Evening: End the night at a sports bar or take on a friendly competition—arcade, bowling, or a go-kart race.
