We had the good fortune of connecting with Jamillah Miller and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jamillah, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I wanted to help educate my community on natural medicine and how it helped me. Our world is changing and while we are living in a time where things have evolved one thing that has remained is what nature has to provide. The more we move forward the more we revert back to things that were a way of life. Our goal is help facilitate and guide those to the healer within.

What should our readers know about your business?
Four Seasons Apothecary is a health and wellness space dedicated to providing safe natural remedies for the entire family. our goal is to educate and guide others to connect with the healer within. Our ability to consistently show up for our community is what sets us apart. It has been a tough road during the pandemic and while many were forced to make drastic business changes we found other avenues to ensure that our customers and the community had what they needed for themselves and their families.

We started with what we had and what we needed eventually presented itself at the right time. I’ve overcome many challenges by accepting things for what they are and offering myself grace. Challenges will continue to present themselves and it’s ultimately how you choose to handle them. I’ve learned that business is always changing, never get to comfortable because there will always be a time when you may have to pivot or shift. I pay attention to my audience and their needs. It’s truly a pleasure and i’m honored to do this work. I want people to know that there is another way and we can utilize what nature provides as a source. Like most within the health and wellness community i was thrusted into this lifestyle as a way to support myself and our son who struggled with a very severe case of eczema. I share what i know and what has worked well for our family. All of our products are handmade from my hands to yours with love.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Depending on the time of year the beach would be our first stop. Walk around coligny or downtown bluffton and browse shops. Visit one of our local food cart or trucks for lunch. Visit downtown Beaufort and Savannah, GA. The low country is full of exciting things to do, places to go and eat. Just a walk on river street is pure entertainment. I couldn’t let them leave without experiencing the farmers markets. The Hilton Head Farmers Market, The Forsyth Farmers Market and The Port Royal Farmers Market. You’re able to support local artisans, have breakfast or lunch and just enjoy the scenery. You will find some of the best cuts of meat and eggs in town.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are many that attributed to my growth and success. Family, friends, business partners, business mentors etc. One person in particular who works very hard in our business while running his own handyman business is my husband. He’s been there every step of the way and i can literally throw anything at him and he catches it everytime with ease. He’s one of the most success driven individuals I’ve ever met and its hard not to be motivated by him. He’s able to simplify things in a way that makes sense in order to keep our businesses thriving. It’s never no it’s alway how.
