Meet Jamilah Conway | Nutritionist | Fitness Trainer | Author | Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jamilah Conway and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jamilah, other than deciding to work for yourself, what was the single most important decision you made that contributed to your success?
The most important decision I made that contributed to my success was choosing myself everyday. By choosing myself everyday it allowed me to prioritize more self care and focus on exceeding my goals I set for myself. Many times being a business owner, we tend to focus only on our business and not prioritize ourselves properly. While taking my self care routines seriously, I feel better when I work and I am stress free from negativity and distractions that do not align with my vision.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a professionally and self taught Fitness Trainer and Nutritionist with over 17 certifications in Health and Wellness. I also have a Poetry Art company which provides people with poetic talents to showcase free on our website and also a registered Art Dealer business where artists can gain commission from selling their art through us. I am most proud of self publishing my three poetry books in 2024 and growing my own organic produce garden. What’s different about my poetry books is that I do not use correct punctuations because I want the readers to focus on the message rather than small distractions. I am excited about the future books that I will self publish. While in college I was focused on my degree and being a business owner at the same time. I am where I am today because I stayed consistent in my crafts, prioritizing my well being, networking, and being creative. As a serial business owner it is not always easy, but when I see myself achieving more goals, it makes me want to keep going no matter who does not support me and my goals. I overcome those challenges by setting healthy boundaries, personally and business wise. I’ve learned to keep going at my own pace and that my only competition is myself. I want the world to know that I am proud of the Woman I am becoming.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Itinerary
Mornings will consist of having some hot tea or having a smoothie to remove unwanted waste. After a good morning beverage we will start with mediation or a good walk/run and then start strength exercises. For a cool down after working out, we will do a lite stretch to relieve stiff joints and muscles.
Mid-Mornings/Afternoons will consist of creating a new health foods with low to no sodium, stress free activities such as pottery, or outdoor fun.
Evenings will consist of writing in our journals to decompress from a full day of activities and enjoy new cuisine foods in the city that offer healthy foods and afterwards have a group sit down to talk about how we enjoyed our day and what is one piece of advice they would share with one another.

I would like to shoutout to myself, Jamilah Conway. I’ve recently self published over 5 books, designed athletic shoes and athletic accessories. I recently received The Marquis Emerging Leaders Award and created my first Spring Collection Apparel with my company JCXSHRED LLC.
