Meet Jamel Brintley | Tax Accountant

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jamel Brintley and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jamel, how do you think about risk?
Taking Ris is something that is big to me, we have a slogan here “chances make champions“! Space we wouldn’t be where we are if it weren’t for taking chances and risk. Being a minority owned company in an accounting industry, coming from where we started, you don’t see a lot of our type of success everyday. If we hadn’t taken risk to get started and placed the bet on ourselves, the impact that we’ve had thus far wouldn’t be as substantial as it is.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Being in business has challenges the present themselves every day. Although we do put a high focus on “tax season“ we do still have other clients we service you around on the accounting side of our business. Implementing systems to not only run efficiently but also service our clients effectively is probably one of the pillars that has allowed us to grow at the rate that we do. We face challenges in a number of different areas over the years from marketing, retention, and scaling our business but it is nothing that we would change from our process. Without these challenges and facing this type of adversity I do not believe we would be able to stand where we are now.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
So we’re based out of Orlando Florida so of course first stop for any tourist has to be Ocean Prime! As soon as you get off the plane we can go and have a nice cocktail and plan our itinerary. After checking in to your hotel or vacation rental, from there we would more than likely go downtown to check out Lake Eola. Depending on the day there could be some farmers market activities available. Now if you’re into thrill, there’s a number of different theme parks that you could stretch out over a few days. The beach is only 45 minutes away, and then there’s also the nightlife scene. So I guess to answer this question more accurately, it would depend on which friend is coming to visit me. Haha

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to shoutout the thousands of tax payers who’ve supported EFP Tax Prep and Accounting since 2014! The people in my community along with others I’ve encounter in different cities and states. And I can’t forget about the Refferal clients I’ve never personally met! Those are the real people who’ve made all of our success possible.
