Meet India Harris | CEO , Author & Mobile Signing Agent

We had the good fortune of connecting with India Harris and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi India, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
As a motherless teen mom at 15. My mother passed away when I was 13. Although I had my daddy and brothers, it was a painful time. To fill the void, I longed for a baby, someone to love me unconditionally, and someone for me to care for and love on. I knew my purpose then was to share my journey of early motherhood and encourage other teenagers to live a full life where they had the freedom to enjoy being a kid as long as possible. Through the years My Passion grew into My Purpose. I created Black Doves of Excellence Inc where every woman is a Sister Qween, and every young girl is Qween in training. My vision is to restore “old school charm” into the lives of these young ladies. Bringing back elements from my childhood, etiquette class, home economics, cotillions, aspirations for a successful future instead of choosing early motherhood and everything that goes along with such a heavy burden.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Black Doves of Excellence Inc is in its infancy stage, but watch out, we are coming to a city near you! Every member is a Sister Qween, and our your ladies(adolescents/teens) are Qweens in training. I stand on the foundational principles that we are one organism and are stronger together than apart. It is this principle that only a strong foundation can be built upon. I plan to restore old school charm, instilling our young ladies with principles, morals and values I was taught as a child; respect of elders, confidence, etiquette, home economics, cotillions, the list goes on. Our young ladies need direction, choosing positivity over pregnancy. Teaching valuable lessons that will grow with them throughout life. I am super excited about our future, you see I said “Our future.” Black Doves if Excellence Inc is in its infancy stage, but watch out, we are coming to a city near you! The journey thus far has not been difficult, I believe the God/Universe has your future already designed for you, you just have to be still as times and see, hear and be obedient. So you see, I have submitted to the will on and in my life. Direction, signs and symbols are all around you if you humble yourself.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Wednesday Breakfast at home, lunch Cheesecake Factory, Dinner-The Vault, in The Bank, good food, drinks and vibes, Thursday breakfast home, lunch JJ’s fish and chicken, any location, Dinner, Tonys in Alpharetta. Friday, breakfast at home, lunch, at home. Dinner, Spice House Midtown, enjoy food, live band and good vibes. Saturday, breakfast, Milk and Honey, Snellville, massages at Treat Your Feet Doraville, lunch Mexican Restaurant El ray Del taco, Dinner Pappadeaux. Activities, Top Golf, Putt Shack, The Roof at Ponce City Market , Malibu Grand Prix, Flight Club.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My daughters, Asia, China and Imani, but especially my eldest daughter Asia who made me a mommy first, I prayed for her and was grateful for such a wonderful gift, She helped soothe my broken heart, from the loss of My mother. Asia helped me to become a grownup early and see life through a different lens. My other daughters are just as special, its just Asia came first that’s all.
