We had the good fortune of connecting with I Am M.O.M and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi I Am M.O.M, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Our business helps the community and the world by the way we inspire, elevate, empower, support, and celebrate mothers. As creators and nurturers of human life, mothers have the beautiful ability and responsibility to help cultivate love, hope and joy to their children, which creates a trickle down effect to the community and the world. If we can help a mom feel supported and important in her innate calling of motherhood, we’ve done our job!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We are honored and proud to have been creating experiences where moms can come and be celebrated and empowered for a year and a half now. One in particular is our annual mother’s day brunch. It was the first and the kick off to the experiences we create in our business. We had great food, live entertainment, vendors, and a panel discussion. It was an amazing event that allowed for moms to dress up, unwind, be poured into, and share all things motherhood! It was a vision come alive!

I Am MOM arrived to where we are today by God, first and foremost, but also by making sure our core team is solid and strong through communication, love and support. Our current founding members are Shannon Bryant, Sancia Cooper, and Jennell Smith. We also have amazing board members: Kimberly Russell, Tori Gamble, Laurel Mustafa, Jasmine Applewhite. We make sure that the head is flowing in Unity and harmony so it translates to our decision making. We meet weekly to discuss business and to check in personally. I believe with this practice, it has led our business to grow because we operate from a space of being genuine and being connected. People are attracted to and believe in genuine effort with professional follow through, and that is what we bring to the table.

With what we bring to the table, also can come with challenges. This journey has not been easy! Entrepreneurship is no joke! If we didn’t have our core team cohesive (with each person’s unique personalities to balance each other), we would have fizzled out already. There were times when particular experiences would look as if they had the potential to be unsuccessful due to low ticket sales and low engagement, and we wanted to cancel. But we persevered because we leaned on God and it turned out better than we could have ever imagined! The main credit for how we overcame our challenges, was God. All God! And although we’re not a religious organization/business per say, we still recognize the role that God has played in our success, so we HAVE to give credit where it’s due. We’re grateful!

I Am M.O.M inspires to elevate all mothers of magnitude by creating experiences that empower, support, and celebrate their quality of life.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Why one of our experiences of course! Lol. We create experiences at least once a month so I’m sure we would have something going on for them. They would get some food, do a lil shopping, be entertained all in one place at our experience. (Insert wink here). But if they came on a eel where we didn’t have anything going on we’d suggest the Beltline. One day to walk, another day to ride bikes and another just to chill. It’s so long that they can go around lunch or dinner time. There’s a plethora of restaurants there. They could also visit Ponce City Market, the Georgia Aquarium, The Botanical Gardens, the High Museum, just to name a few.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We would like to dedicate this to all the mothers that support us as we create experiences to support them! We celebrate the moms who birthed children, and those who may not have, but extended their love to mother a child! It’s all beautiful! We would not have made it this far, had it not been for them believing in our vision and mission.
