We had the good fortune of connecting with Heather Eason and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Heather, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I was working for a furniture and design company and had worked my way up corporate ladder while managing a team of designers. Originally, branching out was a means to further help my clients who were inquiring about my work, become my own boss, ditch the corporate vibe (more creative freedom) and to work closer to home. I had big dreams of growing my small business into a larger design-build firm and I’ve done just that. I’m super proud of how we’ve grown and the team we have.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are a local interior design-build firm based in Alpharetta, GA. Being a small business owner is never easy. It’s always a hustle. It’s true what they say, you quit your 9 to 5 job to work 24/7. But I wouldn’t have it any other way. I absolutely love what I do and I love our team. I really worked on building an army of smart, incredibly talented people who love what they do. We’ve achieved that and are excited about what each of us can bring to the table for our clients. Different tastes, quirks, and personalities to serve a wide variety or styles and homes. We love that we don’t have a set “look” we pump out. We are much more interested in what the client wants to accomplish and which of us can execute that.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Considering that I have three young children and my best friend has 2 young children, we’d likely end up at the Avalon or Halcyon in Alpharetta to eat, shop, and let the kids run around the green spaces.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Our success is truly a culmination of many different people, vendors and mentors. It’s hard to pick just one! I will say that my friend and mentor, Amy Ferrer with Miko and Boone Home, has been incredible. She’s been such a great supporter of both mine and my husband’s business, has listened to all my business questions and ideas, offered me advice and her valuable time. Amy has been a great supporter of not only me but so many other designers and trade professionals in the area. I adore her and her giving heart.
