We had the good fortune of connecting with HAPPY AFRICAN TROPICAL FOOD and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi HAPPY AFRICAN, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?

As Africans living abroad, we understand more than most how difficult it is to get affordable, good quality african / tropical food ingredients (especially seasonal ones).
We started this business over 6 years ago out of a personal need and it just kinda evolved into its own trademarked brand “HATF Shepherd’s Natural“, which is available on Amazon, Walmart and through our official website.
While we are based in Alpharetta, Georgia, we are an online Tropical Food products retailer and service customers in 48 states.


Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

While we are sellers, we are also consumers first and therefore use ourselves/home as a benchmark for what works quality wise, quantity wise, price wise, storage wise and even gift wise.

This is what drives us to continually improve our products, source for the best quality / healthy products and only offer affordable options for every day people.

As a Christ led company, HATF Happy African Tropical foods, LLC is devoted to operating under the highest standards of ethical conduct.


Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Shopping malls of any kind are a hotspot for our family when they visit but if we had to choose one,LENOX SQUARE!

While shopping is the main attraction, we particularly like the food court.

We also like All You Can Eat Buffets … particularly Golden Corral Buffet and Grill, SmokeJack BBQ Grill and most Chinese Buffet Places
