We had the good fortune of connecting with Hannah Crockett and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hannah, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success is confidence. I am extremely proud of myself for having a voice and mind that makes impactful decisions. As a Creative, it is natural for us to have many ideas, but the execution can be somewhat tricky. We tend to want perfection, when in reality, the most perfect thing we could do, is be confident that we will Win. With this method of proactivity and intentional thoughts, my brand has successfully expanded in nine months. It started as an idea to write articles only, but I saw the need for effective marketing.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My Urban Opinion LLC, is a brand that enhances Black Culture through collaboration and marketing. I believe my brand is unique because I utilize products and experience to execute visions. With the Black Community being familiar with injustices and prejudice, my brand highlights the importance of the Black Dollar. Being intentional about what and where we spend our earnings sends a strong message about our power. Our community indulges in consumerism, so rightfully so, large corporations will always expect us to show support. My brand is here to put a spotlight on Black Owned Businesses and Brands by showing the need of it through Marketing and Curation. I am mostly proud about how I can make people feel great about themselves when I add an extra touch to their vision. Maybe it’s a new product launch, my brand is here to solidify the execution. Professionally, I got here by consistency and proper planning. I choose which vision to execute next, and I patiently map out the steps. I believe that being delicate with my process has allowed me to elevate. Also, I believe in Loyalty. Building Professional relationships allows the brand to grow, because when you do good work, you will be remembered and recommended every single time. Nothing in life worth having comes easy, so along the way, I’ve embraced a few challenges. When the decision is made to be an Entrepreneur, there isn’t anyone to train you, there’s no comprehension tests, it’s just you and experiences. My biggest challenge thus far has been transparency. Since my business solely depends on me, I may not always have room to execute a project for a client’s desired deadline, so this is when I have to keep it honest and offer a solution. I would like the world to know that My Urban Opinion LLC is a brand that is for the people. We believe and stand on giving people their flowers while they can smell them.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Being from the South, I’m huge on Hospitality. Upon arrival, I would be at the airport waiting on my friend with a custom welcome gift. I understand that rideshare is convenient, but for the entire week, we’d use a personal driver from a Black Owned Company. Since my friend is from out of town, I’d utilize a luxe AirBnB to make her/him feel comfortable and spoiled. The Airbnb must be equipped with a full kitchen for function and aesthetic purposes. The flight might land later in the day, so we’d have an in home meal from a private chef. I recommend, “Gourmet with Soublét,” she’s very professional and her plate presentation is top tier. If the food doesn’t send us in a slumber, we’d get dressed for the evening and head to CRU Lounge, preferably the Edgewood Location. I love this location because it’s not too big or small, it’s perfect for an intimate vibe. The venue has Green LED lights, so naturally, we’d feel like money while enjoying hookah and drinks.

The next day, we’d enjoy brunch at Ms. Icey’s Kitchen and Bar in Decatur, GA. This place is filled with energy at its highest level, great service, a DJ with catalog knowledge, skillet cornbread and mimosas. It’s definitely a Southern thing! We would finish the day at the “Hell Yea” Comedy show, a monthly platform with comedians and vibes, curated by Six Degrees. Over the next few days, we would visit areas such as Edgewood, this area is home for Creatives because of the music, food, walking distance, and art. I believe my guest would leave Atlanta feeling culturally inspired, while needing a day of rest from moving around all week.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to Shout Out Brian Smith. We’ve known each other for over a decade and he has witnessed me in all of my seasons. It doesn’t matter if I’m sad, upset, or happy, his unbiased friendship continues strong. I really appreciate Brian for being honest with me, while speaking from a place of love. I believe he deserves credit for contributing to my success, because he offers the space and room I need to unload, just to load up again. His friendship is golden. I’m forever Grateful.
