Hi Haley, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
The term “outsiders” can be subjective. In today’s technology-driven society, anyone with access to social media understands the general dos and don’ts of building an audience and achieving fame. As influencing becomes more normalized, the desire to leverage social platforms has turned into a popular trend. Social media gurus share tips and tricks for growth, effectively providing anyone willing to pursue a career in social media with a guide to success in this industry.

Your friend, neighbor, or coworker may now want to use these platforms to determine if the effort is worth the potential reward, considering it as an alternative way to achieve fame. This trend represents a new approach to influencing. While artists receive recognition for the skill, time, and craft behind each piece of work, many view “influencing” as an easy career—simply blogging about one’s life, akin to a reality show.

For lifestyle influencers, bloggers, or content creators, the workload is often anything but easy. Many viewers, readers, and listeners are unaware of the effort involved. Some roles, like those of lifestyle bloggers, may have a lighter workload compared to niche bloggers. When I blog about fashion, home finds, or makeup tricks, many viewers simply click through the graphics I’ve spent hours creating, swiping right to find the next story that interests them. We all do this daily, browsing through magazines, digital ads, or websites and choosing movies. Yet, as a society, we often fail to recognize the craftsmanship that goes into every creative piece presented to us. The graphics I share are a result of my followers’ interest in my styling choices and their desire to incorporate those ideas into their lives.

As the founder, social media manager, creative director, editor, and graphic designer of my own brand, I find that many viewers, colleagues, and peers don’t realize the time and energy required in this industry is comparable to other professions. When discussing my role as a marketer, people acknowledge the skill and effort involved. However, when I share my passion as a fashion blogger, some ridicule the sophistication required in this field.

The industry is becoming saturated with creators everywhere, but this should not discourage anyone from pursuing their true passion. Choosing this career path requires a creative drive to share genuine ideas and imagery, rather than opting for what may seem like an easy route.

My hope is that those who do not understand the necessary effort will come to recognize that achieving expertise in this field demands a significant investment of time and resources. Creating digital assets for social media requires a substantial commitment from the creator.

Romanticizing my life is a unique trait that defines my brand. We watch movies to escape our reality, so why not create the life we want to escape to? I curate my digital creations to evoke the life I’ve always hoped for and perhaps a life I never knew I wanted. I feel honored to receive recognition from my peers regarding my brand’s aesthetic and the places it transports them when they view it.

Creating something extraordinary is never easy. However, my goal is to be exceptional in ways that profoundly affect others. I aim to share kindness that touches people in ways they never imagined. What may seem like something small to one person can have an immense impact on another. I aspire to live my life as if I am in every movie I admire. I want each day to feel like a vacation, and I hope to emerge from challenges with a breath of fresh air. Knowing that I led my life to my desired ending is an experience I hope to have.

Romanticizing mundane experiences and sharing empathy across all areas of life sets me apart from my followers.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love spending my days basking in the sun and enjoying the beauty of the skyline. I recommend taking a week of relaxing bliss surrounded by beautiful experiences to anyone.

To capture the essence of Parisian life, I highly recommend indulging at Le Bon Nosh. The delicious cuisine, paired with an ambiance reminiscent of Frank Sinatra, is truly an experience to cherish. What may start as a casual lunch can turn into a memorable journey you won’t want to leave behind.

For a day filled with culture and enjoyment, visit Ponce City Market. Take pleasure in a glass of wine while watching the sunset over the Atlanta skyline from the rooftop.

If you’re looking for a vintage and timeless atmosphere, visit Tiny Lou’s at the Hotel Clermont. Here, you can sip a cup of decadent coffee and savor a delicious slice of whatever is featured on the menu. The dark, moody environment makes you feel as if you’re picking an experience off the shelf of an antique store.

Exploring Buckhead is a must if you want to taste the glamorous lifestyle seen in “Pretty Woman.” Experiencing the excitement of upscale restaurants while being serenaded by live jazz music is something everyone should enjoy for themselves.

Take a walk among the ducks floating in the pond at Piedmont Park and admire the beautiful trees framing the towers of Atlanta. Stroll along the Alpha Loop, hear the bell tower ring, and explore all that downtown Alpharetta has to offer.

Not to be biased, as I live in Alpharetta, but you can truly experience the feeling of a summer beach town without the beach here.
