We had the good fortune of connecting with Gjyljeta Kaleshi and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Gjyljeta, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I have been in the dental field for about 11 years. Throughout the years I’ve made many connections with successful dentists and Office managers. These connections that are made, are constantly asking if I know of any good dental assistance they could potentially hire. Unfortunately, all the well-established dental assistance I know are working. Throughout these requests, I came to realization that there was a high demand for good dental assistants. I partnered up with previous dentists I’ve worked with, and other friends who are in the dental field. We decided to open our own dental assisting school that stands out from other schools. Our program allows people to continue their day-to-day basis jobs, while getting their dental assistant certificate by attending online classes on the evenings. Our students are required to come to a live dental setting office every Saturday to practice the clinicals. The program itself is only eight weeks, after graduation we offer a job placement assistance. Being partnered up with successful dentists, gives our students an upper hand and live clinical training. We have a list of over 20 different offices in the Atlanta area who are waiting for dental assistant graduates. I’m happy to be a part of an organization that helps fill this void for the dental community.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Getting out of high school, I did not know what I wanted to do or if I wanted to go to college. I was recommended to take baby steps in the dinner field, so I did. I became a dental assistant and loved it so much. I continue to grow to the dental field by taking over other departments such as managing and selling the treatment. After 10 years of being in the dental field and connecting with a Dental Community, I saw that there was a need for great Dental assistance. Out. dental assistant program is different from others Because our students practice in a live dental office. We also offer hybrid classes, allowing students to do the clinicals from home. I am proud of our program and proud to say we have 100% job placement assistance.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love the city I live in and I am so proud to show it off to anyone who is visiting. I would first start with a walk down the beltline, stop at new realm brewery for drinks and finish off shopping at the Ponce city market. Then for the evening I would love to take them to chops steakhouse, for some of the best steak in the city! To finish our night, we would go to the red phone booth speakeasy bar. Such a unique and fun place to show off!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My first job was being a dental assistant at Tyrone family dentistry, in Tyrone Georgia. The practice owner, Dr. Khieu, took me under her wing and really showed me the ropes in dentistry. She invested me as an employee and and had me going to multiple trainings and how to become the absolute best dental assistant. Thanks to her, I learned so much and became the lead assistant with every following job after that. I eventually grew in the dental field and was promoted within different departments. Within my tenure of working in a dental office, I realized a lot of dental assistants did not have the skills and qualifications that I did because of my additional training. Because of Dr. Khieu, I choose to summarize everything I’ve learned and start my own program to graduate the best dental assistants!
