We had the good fortune of connecting with Francesca McComb and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Francesca, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
As long as I can remember I’ve worked a job. Since the age of 14 I’ve had many jobs since having my own money was always an important goal for me. I’ve worked at my church daycare… I’ve been a musician for several churches in my home town… I worked several mall and retail jobs… and my last corporate job was at a major bank for 8 years. In-between these jobs I dabbled in a couple of online marketing ventures that turned out to be very profitable and rewarding.

I’ve always been an online creative whether I knew what it was actually called at the time or not. Anything I did worth sharing was shared… and people that knew me really took a liking to my content. In 2015 when I decided to pursue my desire for full-time entrepreneurship and leave my corporate job I knew it was time to vamp up my creative flow on the social media platform. I realized it was also time to monetize off of my ideas, individual style, and overall personal brand.

At this time my family was growing, I already had a four year-old, a toddler, and was planning to add to my family, so entrepreneurship in the form of influencing just seemed like the perfect fit. I was able to be more present for my family all while earning an income from doing something I was already good at: sharing great content with my audience.

I do not think I would be able to be the creative I am if I had stayed at my corporate job. Having the freedom and flexibility of time allows me to truly concentrate on the things I love to do, focus on and plan the content I want to share with my audience, and still be the supportive wife and mom of now three children I always dreamed to be.

As a creative in the digital world it allows me the time, income, and resources to pursue the many other passions I have. These passions include content coaching, major brand partnering, and real estate investing.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As a digital creative and influencer I share my thoughts, love for different brands, and professional advice to my audience. My content ranges from fashion, beauty, finances, real estate, mom life, to everyday lifestyle. I don’t like to limit myself to one niche, or place myself in a box, because for me that makes creating content less fun. I left corporate America for a reason, and that is because I didn’t want to be confined to anyone’s schedule, ideas, or deadlines except my own. I think this sets me apart from other content creators in that I don’t limit myself to one topic. I love to talk about everything that’s on my heart and I like to share whatever is on brain at the time. This makes my platforms fun, engaging, and unpredictable. Some followings do not like that route, but my audience does. It’s not easy to not follow social media trends, because we can get wrapped into the “going viral” mentality. So staying true to who I am and what I want to share is what sets me apart.

I am most excited about partnering with major brands who share the same vision and values that I do. As a woman, a mom, a realtor, and overall lifestyle creative there are many brands I’ve already partnered with, but each year I set a professional goal to add to the list that will grow my audience and allow me to share my passions with that many more people. I’ve learned over my entrepreneurial and creative journey that consistency is key. There have been weeks where I didn’t post a thing, no matter the topic, simply because I didn’t put my own feet to the fire. As a professional, however, it’s always important for me to hold myself accountable and make this entrepreneurial leap I took years ago worth it. Brands want to see consistency, and that’s a commitment I have to make daily. It is hard work to be your own boss, and the commitment level is even greater than before…. But the reward to me is so much greater!

My brand is ever evolving, and I want the world to know that as I grow professionally and personally I am going to share my testimonies and growth with my audience so in some way they may be inspired to keep pushing on their individual journeys as well.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
As a newbie to the city of Atlanta myself what better way to explore the city than with my best friend! Off the top of my head I would first take my bestie to one of the first food spots I ate at when I relocated to the Atlanta area: Rodney’s Jamaican Soul Food! Since visiting Montego Bay for my honeymoon I hadn’t tasted authentic Jamaican food until I ate here!

We would definitely visit the Georgia Aquarium, Stone Mountain, and the Phipps and Perimeter malls. We love to eat, drink and shop! For a good dinner date we would go to Steak Market for a nice gold coated steak and cocktails. A tour of celebrity homes would definitely be on the list (that’s the realtor in me talking). Lastly, a good Braves, Falcons, or Hawks game would be good contenders depending on the season. We would definitely have a great time exploring the great city of Atlanta!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
When the words “motivation” and “inspiration” come to mind I immediately think of one person. I call her “sis,” but in all honesty she has been a mentor to me for many years.

Since the start of my entrepreneurial journey Monita Smith has been there to push me to my goals and milestones in business. No matter what venture we were on together, she always was there to lend a listening ear, hear my thoughts and complaints out, and help me process through tough decisions that ultimately helped me achieve whatever goals I set for myself. She would always tell me, “You get 5 minutes… cry it out… and then get back to it.”

She is the true definition of what a mentor is… and I attribute a lot of my success and personal growth and development as a business owner and entrepreneur to her. So this is me… giving you your flowers “sis!”
