We had the good fortune of connecting with Fonda Sloan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Fonda, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I’m from New York and my upbringing and background had a huge impact on who I am today. Being from New York the fashion capital of the world where you are challenged every day to present yourself in an unique eclectic way that you can relate to the world. On so many levels. At all times. You had to decide if you were going to compete at a high level or become mediocre.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

Mood by Sloane is a customized clothing business that specialize in making over original designs that we enjoy to wear.

We’re set apart from others because of the uniqueness of our designs our vintage authentic pieces that can’t be duplicated. the likelihood of customers seeing someone in their designs are slim to none.

How we got to where we are today was due to the consistency of sharing our designs on social media and pop up shops. We’ve come across some of the well known and supported celebrities that has taken a liking to our designs and continue to support us and share on their social media platform.

Some of the lessons we’ve learned along the way is that our designs aren’t for everyone, Because of our exclusivity but it does make more people want to add our pieces to there wardrobe which gives them more of an edgy chic look.

We would want the world to know that our designs will add a sense of style and confidence to our customers. When they look in the mirror and see themselves in our pieces something comes over them that allows them to smile and feel good. Building confidence so when they walk into any room not only would they look great they feel good about themselves. Making a statement in our Made Over Original Designs

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
When I decided to invest in my business full time I was connected to my business mentor Kim Lawson who works for The Hope Foundation that is design to help elevate small business to the main stream.

Kim exposed me to the functionality of business and helped me get the exposure I needed to create my business from the business plan, business finances as well as target market for my business
