We had the good fortune of connecting with Fantaysha Gary and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Fantaysha, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The thought process was “I need to do this”! It was not just for myself but for my family and other mom’s who think life stop’s after you have children. I was in university for the 2nd time and needed something to benefit my family financially. I wanted to provide professional photography that was affordable. I knew that I could make that happen.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Quazenye Photography is named after my boy’s it’s the beginning of their name’s. Just like the name Quazenye is unique, so is my photography. I love being creative and love doing sessions that are outside of the box. I have more fun than my clients for sure. I think it’s important to love what you do. I learned to keep getting better educate yourself on your craft. I also learned that we as photographer’s are all different and to not compare my work to others. I want the world to know that I work hard and I take my Art serious. It’s more than business it’s therapy and happiness.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorite spot would be bolba theory! I love bubble tea! I love seafood too so I would definitely tell them to check out the juicy crab. Oh and the slutty vegan I love me some vegan even though I’m not quite converted yet.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to Thank any and everyone who has supported me. It means so much to me when clients come back or refer me to others. I especially like to Thank my husband Marc and our boys Quazenye for helping during big photography sessions! Special Thanks to the people who constantly promote my art!
