We had the good fortune of connecting with Faith Desiree and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Faith, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When I decided to dive into entrepreneurship it was because I wanted the freedom and flexibility to build my own empire rather than someone else’s.

When I realized I was worth much more that an hourly wage, I decided to come up with an exit plan. I took business operating gems from the morning huddles and weekly meetings and applied it to my own business.

Now here I am, alongside my business partner, preparing for the Grand Opening of a luxurious full service beauty bar in West Midtown Atlanta!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
For 8 years I have been dental professional! Anyone who knows me knows I love dentistry. I came a long way and I am mostly proud of just being able to absorb so much knowledge and apply it.

It wasnt easy at first. I wasn’t always passionate about dentistry. In fact, initially I went to dental assistant school because I was fresh out of a divorce with two small kids and I needed a career.

I chose dental assisting because the program I chose had a schedule that allowed me to continue working while going to school. It was a no brainer.

Over the years dentistry has definitely stolen a huge piece of my heart. Being able to help and educate the community on oral health as well as restoring smiles has been rewarding to say the least.

I adopted cosmetic dentistry as my favorite specialty. Which encouraged me to start my own teeth whitening business! I did teeth whitening independently for a few years and decided to merge beauty and dentistry! Which birthed the “Runway Beauty Bar”.

I would hope reading my story inspires readers to just go for it. If you have an idea, if you have a dream, just do it. You’ll figure everything else out along the way trust me. The money will come, the support will come and the success will come.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Ahhh! Atlanta has so many hidden gems from upscale to mom and pops spots, so we will explore a little of both.

-Little five points! Such a dope eclectic community with diverse vibes. I lived in Austin Tx for awhile and I get those same vibes.

-Ponce city market and the rooftop! Lets just say great food, great treats, amazing drinks and fun on the rooftop with skyline views!

-Ipic! Nestled downtown you can enjoy fine theater dining! Yes you can recline in a private seating pod while eating dinner not snacks, with a martini.

-The Porsche Experience! If you’re looking for a unique and fun experience you can book a reservation to drive a Porsche on the track followed by dinner in a rotating restaurant.

-Big daddy’s! A dope mom and pop soul food restaurant. Go hungry!

-Peach Cobbler Cafe! Listen! You must go to this soul food restaurant if you dont make it anywhere else. You wont be disappointed.

-Ok one more before my list gets too long. Putt Shack! So much fun but with adult vibes. I’d go here over Top Golf anyday!

There’s so many people who have contributed to my journey as a whole! Receiving the support from my close friends and family really has been pivotal to my success. I’m really grateful for them all.

A well known “entrepreneuher” that has truly inspired me is Issa Rae. Her character Issa Dee in HBO Max show “Insecure” describes me verbatim as an individual.

Watching the show over the years has been a staple to my growth as an entrepreneur. Issa and her story is truly inspiring.
