We had the good fortune of connecting with Erin Champion and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Erin, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Since I was a child, my passion, and what I believe is my purpose on this earth- is making things beautiful. Flowers are, of course, beautiful on their own, but what I wanted from my business is to make not only beautiful bouquets of flowers but a beautiful shopping experience for our customers. This idea of making an experience out of shopping for flowers pushed me to take a chance and start a business where that was the main goal. We thought to ourselves, what if we made customers shopping in the metro Atlanta area, for just a moment, feel like they’re in Europe stopping at a local, countryside farmers market for a fresh bouquet of flowers. This image was the inspiration for the Posie Cart.

What should our readers know about your business?
What sets Posie Fields apart from others is not only the customer experience but the convenience. With our Porch Posie bouquet subscription, members will get a fresh bouquet delivered each week to their doorstep- or, even better, a grow your own cutting garden can give anyone a fresh bouquet waiting to be built from their own backyard. These products just make sense if keeping fresh flowers in your home is something you value.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My personal favorite food spots in the metro Atlanta area are Chiringa (their chicken sandwich and margarita are my favorites!), Lapeer, and Bistro VG. If I and my husband are going out, it’s to one of these spots. For places to see, if in the warmer months, the Alpharetta Farmer’s market is a must for anyone visiting the area. Every seller has something great to offer, and the shopping experience is one of a kind. Another incredible shopping experience is the Avalon. The stores, the food, and the luxury feeling are unbeatable.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are so many people I owe credit and recognition. The first shoutout I want to give is to my husband, Jason. I wouldn’t have been able to do any of it without him. From building our Flower Cart from scratch, helping every Saturday at the Farmer’s market, and deliveries for our Bouquet Subscription- he is the best business and life partner I could have asked for. Next, I have to shoutout every volunteer and employee of Posie Fields. Aside from the hard work each person has put into our company (Georgia heat is no joke), the support and kind words I have received have truly kept me going in the most stressful times of the season. Posie Fields has not been a solo endeavor, but instead a company built on community and the love and encouragement of all of those around me.
