We had the good fortune of connecting with Erika Kight and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Erika, what matters most to you?
Integrity matters so much to me. I feel it’s such an important element as a person. It’s a foundational pillar that when lacking greatly changes if someone has the type of character I want to engaged or interact with. Both personality or professionally. It’s been a northern star for me in my life and I’m so grateful I was raised knowing how much having it, and sharping it year over year matters.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
It’s super unique to be a successful female in this industry. I am honored to be out in the field and representing women. I love that I’ve had others tell me that they’ve gone for a role in a male dominated field because they saw me be so successful, and felt they could accomplish their goals too. It’s great to break down those barriers and prove that women can be just as educated, knowledgeable, and capable when it comes to the word of roofing as men. I want others to know that no matter what if you set your mind to it you can achieve it, I came into my role knowing only two thing: I wanted to be the best & I wanted to help others. Between being promoted to a POD leader where I help with hiring, training, and have direct reports I mentor, I also have been one of our top Project Managers year over year with over $2.5 million in individual sales. It’s been a lot of long hours & hard work-but I’ve grown so much throughout the process and that’s truly priceless.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
So I love the outdoors and good food is a must! So majority of our time would be spent hitting up Gibbs Gardens, Atlanta Botanical Gardens, Kennesaw Mountain, Piedmont Park, & any type of outdoor festival! Some of my favorite places to go to eat are Century House, Salt, and anywhere with a great unique menu & delicious desserts-sweets are a must!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would not be where I am without the love & support from my family & friends. Especially my husband who supports & encourages me in my career, is my sounding board, and who helps me stay grounded.
