We had the good fortune of connecting with Erica Rogers and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Erica, other than deciding to work for yourself, what was the single most important decision you made that contributed to your success?
The single most important decision that I have made that contributes to my success is remaining consistent.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I was born into a project community and soon thereafter would become a product of the foster care system. At a very young age I felt that nothing that I put effort into could be worse than what I had already experienced with enduring just those two factors alone. I have always moved with the concept that once I became older enough to take care of myself then I would do just that. I believe that even with having experienced these events at a very tender age gave me the strength to not be afraid to push through. I mentor young girls that are currently in the foster care as to hopefully offering them hope with being able to look at someone like them succeed no matter the beginning situation.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Im finding that the more mature I become that I really love nature. We would find a hiking trail with amazing scenery. There is nothing like good food and music to soothe the artistic side of me so I would maybe try the Apache Cafe to enjoy up and coming talent and creatives alike.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Absolutely, I would like to show recognition to our studio mom, she recently retired and instead of fast tracking her check off list of things to do she decided to dedicate her time to helping open the establishment. Ms. Phyllis Crossely Studio mom and real life mother figure all around.
