We had the good fortune of connecting with Erica Holloman, MBA and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Erica, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I started working at the age 15 and when I was about 17 I decided that I did not work to work for someone all my life. I have always loved creating things and so, when I got diagnosed with Leukemia in 2016 and me having a lot of free time on my hand being home from work for almost 2 years, I got into creating heavily. A friend of mine told me “girl why are you not doing this for a living” and the rest is history.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a crafter and I am constantly learning new crafts everyday. They say if you are doing something you love it doesn’t feel like work. I know there are a lot of people out here doing the same things as I am but what sets me apart from them is I’m not in this industry for the money, I do it because I love creating things with my hands. I am excited about seeing what’s in store for my business, I am still new to the game and I am continuing to grow and learn. It gets hard but when I get to feeling like this may not be the business for me my aunt will call me out of the blue and give me those words of encouragement that will set me back on the path that my ancestors and the most high has set for me. The lessons I have learned are you cannot compare where you are in business with anyone else because that will quickly discourage you and make you rethink your decision and the other lesson I’ve learned is that will support who the want to support, don’t allow that to stop you from continuing on and being successful. What I want the world to know about me or my brand is that I put my heart and soul into everything that I create. I started this business in 2019 because I love to create, We specialize in vinyl and sublimation crafts by offering custom apparel and keepsakes for personal and business use.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When my friends and I get together we wouldn’t stay in town we would most like head to Atlanta. We would do a little shopping at Atlantic Station where we would grab something to eat at Yard House, we will grab some tickets for the Hawks game. We would find a spot to go listen to some live music, we would also find the time to hit up Nouveau and just chill at the hotel and catch up with each other.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My biggest supporters are my family and my friends. My mother Sheila Williams is my top sales person (lol), anytime I come out a new item she is there letting her friends know what her daughter is doing and getting me them sales. The Black Business Expo in Athens, GA was a great networking experience for the black owned business owners here. My aunt Netra Pascall she motivates me to keep going when business is slow and funding is low and lastly my daughter Janiya Holloman who is my assistant and my right hand woman, when mommy has orders she is there helping me with prepping and sometimes making orders.
