We had the good fortune of connecting with Emoni Moses and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Emoni, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
I want to be remembered as a resilient force. I want to be an example for others and show that your dreams are achievable. Purpose is greater than any obstacle placed on your path. I want my legacy to be a representation that art is healing.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ve always been artistic. I began to showcase my art by doing makeup for prom and homecoming in high school. My journey has not been easy at all. I’ve faced many set backs and challenges but Ive grown from it all. I’m a constant work in progress and I’m consistently doing the work to better myself and my brand. I’ve learned that hard work is important but so is timing and intention. I want people to know that my brand supports beauty beyond social expectations and limits.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First things first, we’d have to start with brunch. Thumbs Up Diner for a more low key vibe or maybe JR Crickets. Bottomless mimosas are a must! Lunch in Piedmont Park if the weather allows it. The High Museum is one of my favorite places with incredible art. And we can even finish off the weekend with some skating at Cascade.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’m really blessed to have my twin younger siblings and my boyfriend. They are my biggest support system. I’m also thankful for my former esthetics instructor turned mentor, Miss Wanda Ashford. She’s encouraged me since the very first day we met. I’m so grateful for my amazing clients that constantly refer me to their friends and family. I’m so fortunate that a large majority of my clientele comes from word of mouth.
