We had the good fortune of connecting with ELISE JAY and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi ELISE, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I chose a creative career because being artistic comes the most natural to me. I’ve always been very imaginative and creative since I was a child. Growing up, there would be times where I’d have to be creative to figure out ways to entertain myself and my younger sibling. My dad was always very musically and artistically talented as well.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a music artist. I create music for everyone. Whether you listen to pop, indie, hip-hop, trap, or alt music… I know my sound can be enjoyed by everybody of all ages. I am a very versatile artist, who ties rap, pop, and alternative together as one. I’ve been a recording artist for almost 4 years, and been consistently dropping music for one. At first, I never thought about taking music seriously until my friends told me they enjoyed my music. I later kept meeting people in the same field, who took the music business serious. I figured I’d join the community. Throughout the years, I’ve realized that not everyone is for you in this business, has good intentions, or is going to want to listen/like your music. The biggest thing I’ve taken away from growing as an artist, is to ALWAYS be genuine. Its more appreciated in the end. I’ve respected the people who straight up told me what they didn’t like about the art I produce, versus someone who sugar coat how they felt. Your art will never be for everybody, but it will always be for somebody.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
if i had to recommend some good spots in Atlanta, I’d probably say Pasha. They have a good ambiance, good music, even better food, and hookah! Make sure you dress nice, its classy.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I definitely thank my producer NoloGotOne for helping me keep my head on straight through this journey. He inspires me to keep going and reminds me that patience is a virtue. Our musical chemistry is unmatched. That’s twin!
