We had the good fortune of connecting with Dwayne Harris and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dwayne, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I was born and raised in Jamaica until the age of 17 when I moved to NY, I was always in love with music and djing. So I was djing since I was 16 In Jamaica and I continue to dj once I moved to Ny. Already having a knowledge of reggae, dancehall and soca music when I moved to NY I started to listen to more hip hop R&B and pop music, I also joined the army when I was 18 I was able to travel the world and experience diffrent culture even when I was deployed I used to dj on my free time and when I wasn’t deployed I was always djing on the weekends when I left the army after 11 yrs and moved to Atlanta I continue to persue my passion for djing and I figure why not promote my own event and that’s what I did

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m a dj and a promoter you can find me djing at several venues and events around Atlanta but you will find me mostly at Jamerican bar and grill where I dj and promote weekly I started twerk Sunday now seductive Sundays after the owner gave me the opportunity to promote rather than just being a dj. What set seductive Sundays apart from every other events is diversity. You can expect to get an infusion of different style and genre of music that is hard to find anywhere else it’s the perfect blend of hip-hop, r&b, dancehall, reggae , trap, afrobeat and soca and yes we play it all it’s also one of the only venue that is designed where you be on the dance floor turned up, you can sit at the bar area and watch the game you can be in the back playing pool, you can sit down in the dining area enjoying real authentic Caribbean and American food you can pop bottles for your birthday and at the same time you can take your date there so you can have it all in one place I also hand pick my DJ who I know can provide that kind of infusion of music that u won’t get anywhere else and did I mention the admission is free

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Wow there is so much to do here in Atlanta of course first stop would be seductive Sundays at Jamerican lounge lol, wow there is so much to do. The aquarium is a must see, ponce city market, Coca Cola factory hawks and falcon game is a must, rum punch brunch on a Sunday before seductive Sundays, the drive through theatre off Moreland, slutty vegan is a must and depending on who in town magic city, Centannial park several spot off auburn avenue, Stone Mountain park it’s just soo much to do like I said it’s all depends on who I’m hanging out with I know a lot of people from different places and culture so it’s hard to pin point an exact list

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First I want to thank god without him I wouldn’t be able to do what I’m doing today. I want to shoutout to my other half Tiffany for being there for me supporting all my ideas and my journey for all the nights she had to sit in the club with me while I dj and staying up late waiting on me to get home. I hold love to thank all the promoters that I have worked with through the years from Ny to Atlanta thanks to Jamerican lounge and it’s owners for giving me the opportunity to promote and trusting me on my vision and last but definitely not least to all my supporters and listeners I love you guys
