Hi Dhat Boy Val, why did you pursue a creative career?
I’ve loved music since I was a baby I’m sure. When I was 6 years old, I started writing my own rhymes. My passion for music only grew over the years and I can’t see myself wanting to do anything else.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I feel like right now at this moment I’m at my best musically minded self. There is times where things aren’t flowing as well or you aren’t satisfied with how your writing is going but you have to dig in and get it right. I’ve been through writers block several times and it can get discouraging. When I’m really in my zone and in my environment is where my pen takes off itself. This new project I am working on, will have that on full display. I’m my own brand. No major promotional push. Just me and my name. I just ask that you give me a chance to enter your home, your car, your phone, anywhere you can listen to me.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If you coming to my city, we hitting the parkway. Bumping some Drake. Smoke in the air . Follow up with some Island Pan from my boy Fabo. Hit up Downtown and just chill.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shout out my brother Brandon who actually got me started in music. Without him I don’t think I would still be doing it. My family my kids my fans. My homeboys who constantly support me. Anybody that has watched me grow over the years and supported my music I genuinely thank you.
