We had the good fortune of connecting with Devmatic and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Devmatic, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
I invested in myself. I flew out of state to different concerts to get my portfolio up and my name out. I ended up on the Millennium Tour because i flew out to tampa to do a show and the promoter then asked me if i would be his official tour photographer. We have been rocking ever since

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I think my work ethic sets me apart. Alot of times soon as the concert is over im back at the room editing so the pics are up 1st thing in the morning. I could be out clubbin and meeting women….but i know i have a job to do and that will always come 1st! I got to where i am by working. I learned my craft, practiced it, kept learning and perfecting. I could have stopped learning a few years ago. But i knew it was more i could learn. Like during the pandemic i learned to edit video better. Now my videos today kill the basic stuff i was doing on my 1st tour! I overcame my challenges by seeing the vision i had for myself and knowing there are so many others that want my spot. Once you get comfortable or lay back someone else will outwork you and take your spot! I would like the world to know that i appreciate the love and pray that my work long outlives my physical! I hope 20 years from now pictures i took are ones people share as legendary images of the artists ive dealt with!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Prospect oark, turkey leg hut and atomic bottle are for sure spots in houston. In atlanta house of hookah sivas an jr crickets

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shout out to so many people. First God because he makes everything possible once you put your faith in him! Living the life i lived and seeing the things i saw in west Long Beach; i shouldnt be where i am! Next, Gary Guidry and the team at G Squared Events. He believed in me and they embraced me as family. They allowed me to shine and live a life i never thought i would. Next is artists like Sammie, Lloyd, Bow Wow, Omarion, Ying Yang Twins, Ashanti, DJ Luke Nasty, Slick Em, Pleasure P, Baby Blue and Spectacular of Pretty Ricky, Bobby V, Raz B, J Boog, Soulja Boy and all the artists who embraced me and my craft. They accepted me, allowed me into their space and for that im forever greatful! Next are the fans! When im out on tour people stop me and show gratitude for my work, ask for pictures and more. Its very humbling and always appreciated! They definitely make the long sleepless nights worth it! And shout out Arie for the plug!
