We had the good fortune of connecting with DERRICK zachary and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi DERRICK, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I was born in Opelousas, LA little Cajun town outside of the city of Lafayette where we are known for making Tony Chachere Creole Seasoning. Being the 2nd child out of 4 kids life was not easy for me. When my mother was 8months pregnant with a snack crawl on her belly, as I was told she threw it in one direction and went in the opposite direction, so you see the enemy has been after my destiny since birth. Having the privileges of growing up on a farm learning the value of work at an earlier age, my father in still in us early that in everything we do be the best and own your own business and always be there for one another. So, every opportunity throughout my childhood was being the best at what I do. I self-taught myself gymnastics, which allow me to train for the Olympics. I have dance professionally in competitions in hip-hop and being one of the first black males to get dance started in the churches when I was 17th. I remember doing this in front of 27000 people for the March for Jesus in downtown Atlanta, Ga. Right after that I was asked to speak to every youth. Being the first in my family to graduate high school and to go to college was an honored. Learning from early age Derrick means leader of people which never wanted the spotlight but somehow people always found a way to put me in front. When i was 11yrs old my father die in a car crash that left a hug hole in my heart, but in that moment I became a father overnight to be able to take care of my siblings. Literally every job I’ve had put me in leadership was in the restaurant world for 20yrs as a training general manager. Created a catering company named after my son Sir William Catering service. As my life transition, I went back to school and got my degree in medical assistance and healthcare management because I want to make an impact on the lives in the community differently. At the same time establishing a church here in Atlanta that I have be called into. Walking In Authority International Ministry and a talk show name Raw Talk all at the same time. As I am being develop I have written a book title, “48 days of prophetic Utterance, The Deep Calling The Deep”, now to be on shelves in July. Also in process having my own cooking/talk show coming live to major networks.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Currently I am the Founder and Senior Pastor of Walking In Authority International Min and we already know that opening a church comes with many challenges for all side but the one thing the Lord spoke to me, is that it was not going to be hard for me. I have been in ministry for 27yrs but established the church in 8/2009. The uniqueness of the ministry is that God birth out a talk show and cooking show birth out of it just from being obedient. Professionally I am the Site Lead for Quest Diagnostics. I have been in healthcare for 12yrs from in pediatrics, family and internal medicine, obgyn, orthopedics, mental health, Being a patient advocate from vital signs, to administration of medication. I have christening some of the children in the practice. As I draw blood on patients it allows me to pray for them and counsel at times. God open many doors in other churches and practices to use my cooking show to go in and teach people how to cook and give insight on health issues giving them the tools to be better.

I dedicate this to my son William M. Zachary-Downs, and to Walking In Authority International Ministry that have always push me to be my best and to trust God to keep the work that has been started. Also to Marie Hall that has been with me through it all, Literally this great woman has prayed and cried with me and have always reminded me that you can do this, I want to see it on the forefront because your voice is needed. Without this great people in my life there would be no me.
