We had the good fortune of connecting with DeAnna Butler- Toombs and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi DeAnna, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process in starting my own business was trying to consider something that people would benefit from as well as something they would need no matter what the economy threw at us. Right now prices are high and the cost of food is getting higher. We strive to offer the best and the freshest non-gmo and organic fruits and vegetables available. All at a reasonable price.
What should our readers know about your business?
Well, Simply Produce LLC started out as a brick and mortar establishment. We ran the company from 2016-2020 out of the Red Oak Plaza located in the City of South Fulton. In January 2020 we were forced to close right before the COVID 19 outbreak. At which point I had no idea what to do. But thanks to our most loyal customer base by June 2020, we were able to purchase our mobile unit. So we’re now a mobile produce market. I think what sets us apart from others is the fact that we will not sell SEEDLESS ITEMS. And our customer service is stellar. My proudest moment outside of having my kids, is and will always be having the courage to start my business. It excites me to see my business blossom after seeing so many others close. And after facing my own failed attempt. I thought I had lost it all when we were forced to close. But by God’s grace we’re still here. In all honesty, being in business for yourself is the most stressful, beautiful, hair pulling, humbling overwhelming, and fulfilling feelings you will ever encounter. And I wouldn’t trade it for the world. I would like your readers to know that we pride ourselves on being able to serve them wholesome, heart healthy, seeded produce and goodness.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I had an out of town best friend to visit. I think I would take them to my kitchen for breakfast lol. For lunch we’d go to AC Art of Food. And for dinner I would order Cracking Crab. All of these places listed are small businesses that need our support. I would also take my bestie to see a few lakes, a north Georgia waterfall and Stone Mountain of course.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate my shout-out to my immediate family. I cannot and will not give credit to one when we collectively support each other. I couldn’t have a better group of people supporting me then my family.
