We had the good fortune of connecting with David Hector and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi David, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My wife and I weren’t satisfied with certain aspects of the dance industry, and felt we could offer something to the industry. Being that we are both believers we also wanted to provide a positive environment for other believers, as well as people that wanted a safe enviroment. With cover shutting everything down in 2020 we saw it as the perfect opportunity to follow our dreams.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
A.C.E Studios stands for always creating in excellence. The name is inspired by Colossians 3:23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters. We take heart knowing that we put our all in everything we do, whether dance classes, performance, lessons, and more. We truly care about our students and clients, and want them to have the best experience possible working with us. We also use the element of Hip Hop dance to spread the Gospel, understanding that it’s more than just dance, if we don’t do our part adding to the kingdom we have failed as believers. Our journey so far hasn’t been easy, In fact in 2012 I Broke my neck dancing , and spent 6 months recovering after surgery. It was by the grace of God I’m dancing today. Our faith is in God. We beleive that where God guides, He is sure to provide. We are excited to keep growing, and inspiring others.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I had a friend visiting Atlanta I would take them to the battery, ponce city market, the belt line, little five points, and centennial park. I’d take them to the juicy crab, slim and husky, Scoville hot chicken, and the flying biscuit. Being a fan of comedy I’d take them to the laughing skull to see a show, or the Roxy to see a performing artist.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost God, without Him nothing is possible. My beautiful wife Dejah, she is my partner, friend, and support. Without you there would be no A.C.E Studios, thanks for sticking by my side through thick and thin. I love you! My dad R.I.P thanks for always believing in me, and teaching the power of positive thinking. My mom for being my biggest cheerleader and loving me through the highs and lows. Mrs.Merry for giving me my first teaching job in 2012. Wally and Karmina for my first dance opportunity in another country India. My dance crew Munky Elitez for showing the ropes in breaking, Deatrick my best friend, my brother for life, we spent so many days practicing at your house when we first started dancing. So many great memories with dance start here.
