We had the good fortune of connecting with Dasha Ware and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dasha, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I always saw myself growing up to be an entrepreneur. I grew up around entrepreneurship. My mother had always worked for herself. I was brought up believing I was great and destined for greatness and how important it was in shaping what I dreamed of was possible.

The thought process behind starting my own business was the love of creativity and the culture of music and also the science behind it. I also know my worth and felt like me working to build another company would stagnate me.

I started my own business because I have always loved serving people. I never wanted to put all my eggs in one basket. When I first started my business I was in a college for Audio Engineering, but not much of what I’m contracted to do now, which is digital marketing. I discovered marketing after securing an internship in college at one of Atlanta’s superior recording studios, Patchwerk Studios and fell in love with the mixture of creativity, data, and the process of product/brand development.

What should our readers know about your business?
What sets The Rising Star Group apart from other businesses is that we are family oriented and more intimate with our clients, we believe that client support is a major key to retention success and growth.
I am a proud leader and excited about helping change the independent community of music culture. As a proud board member of The National Collegiate Entertainers Group (NCEG), an organization aiming to create “The NCAA of the Music Industry” through self-sustained musical ecosystems on college campuses, we inspire and educate aspiring talent to pursue the music dreams while in college.

I believe to garner success it takes consistency and determination. Those two important factor got me to where I am today and it was far from easy. As a female business owner in a male dominated industry we have to work 10x harder, so my determination to win and make my presence known in every room was my goal. Now, the hard part about owning a business is staying in business, without consistency and adapting to changes there is no growth and there is no loyalty.

Some of the challenges I faced while building my business was being a single mom and finding balance. Building a business takes long hours and dedication and you may run into many roadblocks before you ever reach success. What kept me going was my “why” I knew I had three mouths to feed and I was determined to build a legacy for my children. My mission is to build long lasting, meaningful, multifaceted careers, and success stories for my clients.

During my career I have learned that relationships mean everything and to build a family and not a company, take my time, slow down to go fast and most importantly stop procrastinating and just start.

Since 2012, RSGA has used results-driven marketing strategies to serve as a launching pad for music makers and brands to shape culture. We support all independent recording artists and record labels, producers, songwriters, and music-related brands.
