We had the good fortune of connecting with Danny Rossi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Danny, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I am from a suburb in Metro Detroit called Sterling Heights. I was raised in a pretty standard city, Christian parents, homeschooled, and sheltered. I think the way I was raised allowed me to become pretty sensitive to people and learn about them in a way that is pretty intuitive. Like most people from the background it also created a lot of doubt and anxiety about myself. Luckily I found a good counselor in my early 30’s who put me on track to be able to explore those wounds and accept myself. Getting away from a lot of the ways I used to think has been super important to my personal growth.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have always been involved in some form of art or creative work since I was 15. I started playing music with my brothers at that age and slowly got into song-writing. Growing up religious I was groomed by some local churches to get into their arts programs and though that was ultimately not where I was meant to be I learned a lot of life lessons their about the work it takes to be a creative. I then moved to Nashville, TN to pursue song-writing. and I am now in Denver Ad School pursuing their portfolio program as a Copywriter. I’ve had random success in the Free Credit Score band search competition when I was in my late 20’s. On a lark me and some friends won a nation wide competition to find a new band to record, perform, and star in the re-brand from Free Credit Report to Free Credit Score. That was a fun time in my life but also complicated. I learned a lot. I was diagnosed with testicular cancer before we shot our second round of commercials and that changed a lot about how I viewed success and made me rethink a lot about my life. My life as been a series of random adventures similar to that one. I’ve been blessed.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’d head right down to downtown Detroit first thing in the morning. Head to MadCap coffee for a pick-me-up, then visit the Detroit Institute of Art. Then head to Green Dot Stables for some sliders and try and catch a local band at the Lager House before going to Lafayette Coney Island for some Coney Dogs. Then wrap up the night with some cocktails are Sugar House.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My brothers Nolan and Bryon Rossi are a huge part of my success. Without their support, acceptance, and guidance I don’t think I’d be where I am today.
