We had the good fortune of connecting with Danielle Maury and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Danielle, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
After feeling unfulfilled and lacking consistent creative joy in the corporate 9-5 grind, I decided to step out on faith onto this journey of starting my own business. Jeweled Events Company fueled my desire to have unlimited creative expression and a meaningful impact in my communities, I embraced the challenges and uncertainties, driven by the belief that there’s more to life than conforming to a rigid structure and fulfilling someone else’s dreams. By following my ordained path, I sought to create a venture that aligns with my passions, values, and aspirations, finally finding fulfillment in the pursuit of my multi-passionate dreams.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I believe that my dedication to making people truly happy sets me apart from others. Even when it’s not my job or not in my description, if a work needs to be done, I’ll do it. With my event coordinating/planner, it allows me to deep dive into my mind and present all type of creative ideas for my clients so they can start dreaming big. I am most proud of the fact that I stepped out on faith and working this assignment out. I help how I can and where I can and always within budget. I’m excited that my business allows me to put in as much as I have the capacity for and rest when I have to without consequence.

Business-wise, I just became serious in 2021 because I was doing this for a long time, starting as a teen, as a hobby that people felt compelled to pay me for. I enjoy the operations and logisitcs around event planning and producing. From weddings, birthday parties, pageants, and more! Creating the business plans, funding plans, legalities of the business was not and is not easy but it is so worth it. I see myself have rental spaces in mulitple states with a warehouse for my eCommerce and retail stores. How I am overcoming the challenges, both big and small, is with consistant prayer, empowerment from my husband, and taking advantage of programs or events that deal with helping small businesses start up and succeed.

Major lessons I’ve learned along the way is that I am worth every shot of success I want to take. As long as I keep my focus on my God given assignment, there are only successes and readjustments.

The main thing I want people to take away from my brand, which is me, is that I don’t quit. I try, learn, adjust, correct, and try again. I will perform to the best of my abilities every time and go the extra mile. My business is mirrors my servant heart. I don’t stop until the assignment is complete

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
So I am in a small town in Mississippi called Oxford and it is home of the University of Mississippi “Ole Miss” Rebels. This town is small but with a big city charm, sometimes lol.

For a fun girls day/trip vibes in Oxford/North Mississippi, we would definitely get breakfast/brunch at Big Bad Breakfast and go explore square so we can end up at Ajax Diner or Proud Larry’s for lunch! We would go get facials at EightySeven Esthetics or Epicure. Finish the day with dinner at Sola Oxford and people watch from The Summit Lodge Bar!

Depending on the time of year, we would catch a home football game in the Vaught #HYDR or attend a women’s basketball game in the Pavillion #ComeToTheSip. We would have to get a burger from Handy Andy’s and some Hotty Toddy Balls from Volta!

Would not be a girls trip if we didn’t hit the Tangler Outlets in Southaven or the Mall at Barnes Crossing in Tupelo!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Definitely my husband, Carlos. He is, besides God, my biggest supporter. He has never said ‘no’ to my many ideas but just ‘How can I help?’ He allowed me to quit my 8-5 job and work on these many business ideas, from custom journals to event planning to crafts and more! He truly desires for me to find my passions and to be successful in them. As a business owner himself, he knows there are ups and downs and he supports through it all. Even in the downtime, he finds that optimism that I sometimes overlook. In the good times, he applause my humbleness and boosts me up even more to be proud of my finished products. So I dedicate everything to God and to my husband, Carlos!
