We had the good fortune of connecting with Dajana Carter and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dajana, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
The best way to answer that questions is, I flowed into a predestined path. Coming from two gifted parents put me in a position to accept a calling that was written on the inside of me. Basically, I made that choice to continue in the exploration of myself. Because at the end of the day that is what life is about for me. Living artistically through my experiences, and expressing my creativity in each individual outcome.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
I would have to say I am most proud of my diligence and resilience. And I get excited about igniting others in their gifts. Some say the road to success is not easy. However, I say the road in purpose is winding very challenging but, the most rewarding. It was definitely not easy especially with the uncertainties of life. However I manage to continue on with my faith, being surrounded by real transforming love and wisdom. On this journey I have learned to adapt to change and stay true to myself. I’ve learned to not let others opinions dictate to my way of living and to feed my soul more than I feed my ego. I want the world to know that I am tenacious. I want people to know that I’m here to help anyone in need. Rather it’s coaching them before a performance or just speaking words of light in ones life. That’s all apart of who am I. I am a creative who plants seeds of inspiration. Hoping that small seed of encouragement grows into a strong tree of confidence. Praying that tree spreads and becomes a forest filled with new tales of overcomers.If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
So anyone who knows me knows that I love to cook and eat great food lol so a week long trip with me will consist of filling your belly. Of course my kitchen is the first stop.Anything you want such lamb, homemade pasta, seafood, I can make. Now as far as going out we would hit places like HOBNOB Neighborhood Tavern, STK, Slutty Vegan, Nuevo Laredo Cantina, Maggiano’s Little Italy or Fontaine’s Oyster House. Then we’d visit Top Golf or Andretti. I like to stay active so maybe some rock climbing or Bad Axe Throwing.Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First I must give honor to Yah(God) for assigning me to be in existence. I would be nothing with the beautiful beings that assisted in cultivating me. My late father (Melvin E.Carter of Confunkshun) Mother(Vearlynn Carter) and my amazing siblings my late brother Darrius, sister Dajairea and baby brother Devlin Carter. And last but not least my personal community of family and friends.
