We had the good fortune of connecting with Cortney Hendrix and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cortney, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
To never give up no matter how hard it gets. To keep pushing through it even when you can’t see it. Always be consistent in what you love to do. Knowing that practice makes perfect. Also take personal responsibility for the good things in your life because this is a form of optimism, self-belief, and will give you the positive energy you need to keep moving forward. The more personal, permanent, and pervasive your explanations for your success, the better. Being passionate about your craft, engaging in with your clients, and showing your clients that you care. Whether it’s with makeup, skin care, or waxing. I love that I can put a smile on my client’s face and that they appreciate my craft.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
With makeup I love to do creative styles. I love a dramatic eye and I can be a-lot extra when it comes to makeup. Whether it’s soft glam or full glam, I try to add some pop to the face. With facials I love to see how the skin transforms. Like in 2 weeks you can see a difference. Especially when that client follows the skin care routine that is given. With waxing it’s all about the techniques and making sure the client is comfortable with you. I’n the Esthetic field it’s all about being consistent and engaging with your clients. You must build from the ground up with clients. So it haven’t been easy but worth it. Your determination and having faith will push you through anything. I never gave up and never will. I will continue to walk forward and move in action. I want the world to know that I’m compassionate about my craft and I can’t wait to bring more to table.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would love to go to Destin, Florida with a group of friends. We will stay at the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort and Spa. I would to sit by the beach, go play some golf, get a massage, and relax. For eating out I would love for us to eat at The edge Seafood Restaurant and Sky Bar.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First, I would love to give the honor, glory, and praise to God. I would love to thank my Pastor Melanie Griffin for pushing me through my obstacles and just being there every step of the way. I would love to thank my Husband for believing in me and the vision that he’s also apart of. I loss my Big Brother Nick back in 2004. When I loss him I gain another Brother name Travis Foreman. He help me through Esthetician school and just life in general. I’m forever great full for his love and support. I would love to thank my clients who believe in me and my craft. They keep me steady and booked. I’m beyond blessed that The Lord have put such amazing people in my life.
