We had the good fortune of connecting with Corinne Crofford and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Corinne, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I have always been an independent person. The prospect of being my own boss, calling the shots, and setting my schedule has been a lifelong dream of mine. After working in the corporate world in NYC for a few years, I realized just how stifled I felt by chasing someone else’s dream. (Plus, I have an Aries Sun sign, so I’m too headstrong to take orders from anyone else anyways.) I wanted to be able to serve my clients to my maximum potential. After enduring the intense work culture of New York, (so much so that cigarettes began to replace meals for me at the time), I knew I had to take a risk and get out there on my own.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

As an astrologer, I consider myself an artist. My work of interpreting someone’s chart is a very creative process. I rely on my intuition in order to best serve the client in front of me. My study of astrology has brought me into deeper levels of freedom & self-awareness than I ever dreamed possible. Now I get to provide that same sense of freedom for my clients, which is my joy!

In my astrology work, what I am most focused on is my clients overall wellness. This work can be deep and transformative, with some clients feeling more seen after one session than after years of therapy. Our work together often improves communication between children, parents, romantic partners, and helps to foster understanding. I hope that together, our work helps to free you from the heavy burden of self-judgment through radical self-acceptance.

I am a grounded person with a strong sense of humor who brings levity even to serious situations. I am here to be your empathetic, loving, goofy guide in this process.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Peruvian dinner at Las Brasas in Decatur. Drinks at Lyla Lila in Midtown, and homemade pasta for dinner if we were feeling bougie. Breakfast burritos at Poco Loco in Decatur – so worth the wait! Yoga at Tough Love in Candler Park. (I’d also drive my bestie around Candler/Inman Park to ogle all of the gorgeous old homes!) Shopping at Queenie’s Consignment in Decatur. A live show at the Variety Playhouse and/or Aisle 5 in Little 5 Points, with drinks at Octopus Bar afterwards. Coffee at the original Hodgepodge location on Moreland Avenue!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
For starters, both of my parents. They have always encouraged me to be creative and to pursue my true purpose in life, no matter how messy the process may look. (They are both artists themselves.) Secondly, my first astrology teacher, Debra Silverman. Her unique approach to the wisdom of the stars continues to blow my mind, daily. Lastly, my friend Sarah who recommended me for this story feature! As women, I think it is so important that we continue to support one another and lift each other up in our journeys as female entrepreneurs.
