We had the good fortune of connecting with CLOUDLAND and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi CLOUDLAND, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I think for us as a band, expressing our emotions and struggles in a few songs is an art form that many others take part in as well. We get to be part of the grand community of people writing their feelings and surrounding them with pretty notes and sounds. We pursue this creative career because we aren’t doing it alone–because of the community we’re part of as well as being a group of four friends that are in it together.  

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Something we can say we’re proud of is this new album we’re working on–our first actually! The process has been far different from what we could have expected, mostly due to the circumstances we’ve all found ourselves in this year. The new songs are some of our favorites, and no one has seen us play them live. That’s something we’re very excited for–the day we can finally play these new tunes in front of our people. One thing we’d like people to know about us is how raw and organic everything is that we give. We self-create much of our content along with a talented network of creatives, and we’re learning a lot about ourselves along the way. The journey has been far from easy, and we don’t expect it to lighten up. At least we get to experience it all together and meet wonderful people along the way!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
In Athens, it’s always good to grab a slice at Automatic Pizza with a cold brew from Creature Comforts or this new bar called Oglethorpe Garage. We love to camp and play football games in some of our local parks. It’s a small town, but Atlanta is close by as well as the mountains. Oh, and we’d usually check out a good concert, but… one day! 

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Our friends and families have provided so much support to us over the years, so we would definitely like to shout them out and thank them for being incredible people.
