We had the good fortune of connecting with Christina Mallory and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christina, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I came up with the idea of my business a few years ago honestly but I did not know how to get started so I eventually just put it in the back of my mind for a while. I am currently a single mother to my son and I solely take care of him alone with minimal help from others. I currently teach but as we all know there is never enough money in education so I wanted to be able to start a business where I could control my hours. make money and enjoy what I’m doing at the same time. I have almost 10 years in the bartending/restaurant industry but its not the ideal job for me as a mother. So when the pandemic happened and schools were closed I completed bartending school in hopes of starting my own mobile bartending company. After I took time to research mobile bartending in Georgia, I began making my social media accounts, flyers, business cards, uniforms, and purchasing the equipment that I needed to get started. The first day I launched my business I immediately received a booking the next evening. Talk about fast! I was so excited because I was ready to present my skills and make money while doing so. After my first booking, I began to receive an abundance of bookings throughout the year into the next year. Each time I provided a service I would gain so many compliments and I was able to network through clients, vendors and venues. After being in business for almost an entire year I was able to purchase my own LED mobile bar that I could take on the go with me to every event that needed services. I can honestly say I was booked before launching my LED bar but once I was able to provide an actual bar to my services bookings went through the roof! I am beyond proud of myself for bringing my vision to life and being able to provide for my family for many years to come. Fun Fact: I do not drink alcohol never have! Lol!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have been an educator for almost 8 years now. I have always had the passion for working with children for as long as I can remember. I was able to attend a teaching magnet in high school which prepared me for my educational journey throughout college. After having a minor setback in obtaining my Bachelor’s Degree a few years back I was determined to get my foot in the door by at least using my Associates Degree in the meantime. I was given an opportunity by a Director who trust her instincts in allowing me into the classroom regardless of me not having much experience yet and I am grateful for providing me that opportunity. Once I returned back to school to complete my Bachelor’s program I was able to finish each course with no problem because I had been in the field for so long that the workload was a breeze, Being an educator is far from easy but the most rewarding part about being an educator is the children and helping families. I have always admired how children learn on different levels but I take the time to learn each child individually and meet their needs so in the end the concepts that are presented to them they can be understood in due time.

Although I love teaching, being a bartender and being around people that genuinely enjoy me as a persons is just as rewarding. I have been in the service industry for almost 20 years and at one point in my life that’s where I was most comfortable at. I was introduced to bartending about 10 years ago and haven’t looked back since. When bartending I sometimes become someone’s therapist or friend. While serving 0thers I learn so much about them as a person and I can sometimes give great advice or vice versa. Also, I have such a great personality that I will engage in a conversation with a person and we will go through many emotions just to be able to sit and comfort one another in the end is gratifying. Mobile bartending has opened up a new world for me and I love everything about it especially being able to have fun, make money, and provide a service to others.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my bestfriend was visiting Atlanta for at least a week we would have an amazing itinerary. Being that Atlanta is somewhat of a cultured/party city now, there is literally something to do almost every night of the week in the city. Monday we would enjoy a night out at the infamous Magic City for Magic City Monday’s. Tuesday’s are made for $2 Tuesday’s at a local lounge or Mexican restaurant. Wednesday can be a day where we do shopping at the mall and enjoy a nice dinner at a restaurant of my choice(usually Steakhouse or Seafood). Thursday could be a day out where we sightsee some of the landmarks of the Old Atlanta(what’s left of it anyway) and some of New Atlanta. Friday is a day where we get dressed in one of out best outfits for a night out on the town. Saturday we will stop by Live Love Tattoos downtown across from Magic City and get a tattoo from Chad and afterwards we will go to TastiBody for a body sculpting session and a massage for relaxation by Twin. On Sunday we will enjoy church service and lunch before she has to return home.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The one person that I would say that has motivated me to keep going is my son. Once I became a mother an entire shift in my lifestyle happened. I am an only child so I have always just had to worry about myself but once I became a mother my motherly instincts kicked right into gear with no hesitation. I love being able to provide for my son and also making him proud to be able to look up to me as a role model. I am far from perfect but I just want to be prefect in his eyes for a lifetime. My friends support me in almost everything I do and I thank them for that as well. Not having siblings isn’t so bad when you have great friends like the ones I was blessed with!
