We had the good fortune of connecting with Christian Little and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Christian, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
What’s up! My name is Christian Little! Follow my Instagram via @saucey_suave__ and my business partner Versatyle Thompson via @versatyle__. With my business partner I am the co-owner of “PrepBoys Media” via @prepboysmedia, which is a company that specializes in anything that has to do with creating a visual. All the way down to videography, photography, cinematography, and etc. We produce commercial grade visuals for small and big companies, product marketing, weddings, real estate, visuals for creatives, and music artist. My thought process behind starting my own business, was very conditional. I started this journey behind the ideas of my business partner, Versatyle Thompson, who is an international spoken word artist. Everything started with the foundation of what he wanted to build within his brand “OMGV.” That’s how “PrepBoys Media” came about and flourished into what it is today. So my personal mindset towards starting this business, was to take advantage as a creative, trying to find the best medium to express my ideas. That is what fueled my drive to start this business.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I like to look at myself as creative genius in my book. I’m always striding to express my creativity on an elevated level. What sets me apart from others, is the fact that God created me with purpose just like everyone else. Therefore, I am not concerned with nobody else’s purpose in life and their creativity or success. I have more of a humble approach to this platform of artistic ability and creative expression. I take more of an opportunity to be inspired by other people’s work and success and sow it into my own craft. I feel like I am my only competition and I feel like everyone else should think like that as well.
I am more focused on how much more knowledge and understanding within my craft that I can apply to my creativity and letting my work speak for itself. Which ultimately excites me for how much things I have in store and is just icing on the cake that I can do that within a structured llc that I co-own.
How I got to this point in my life professionally is trial and error. I didn’t go to school for my skill set. I went o school for physical therapy and got a degree in kinesiology. Ironically, I found my passion/profession on the outskirts of academics while being in the academic world. It wasn’t easy balancing the expectations of school while shooting short films, being hired for photography and video gigs, having 2part time jobs, taking 7 classes, and being a student government treasurer, all at once!
How I overcame the obstacles by staying true to my path and keeping the bigger picture in mind. Along the away it helps to keep the same like minded people around me to keep me going. Ultimately it makes me better.
I learned that at the end of the day, you have to Joan in on your craft if you want tangible results or you will get exposed when things hit the fan.
The main thing I want people to know about me and my brand is that the keys that I’m picking up to open these doors of success has everything to with purpose, consistency, authenticity, dedication, discipline, focusing, maintaining, willingness, and being able to re evaluate oneself.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Man, if I’m going to show someone a good time, I’m going to take them to some very key spots. If Apache cafe was still open, I definitely would making a stop there for some legendary spoken word. I like art, so definitely the high museum. Atlantic station and or little 5 points or on the strip somewhere downtown on peach tree.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Look I’m going to keep it simple, short, and sweet. If it wasn’t for my business partner Versatyle Thompson via International Spoken Word Artist who is a multi talented creative genius, I wouldn’t have ever been able to find my true expression of creativity on this platform that I stand on today! So, I definitely want to give a shout out to my boy!
