We had the good fortune of connecting with Charmagne Hoskins and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Charmagne, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
My work-life balance has undoubtedly undergone significant shifts given the profound personal experiences I’ve navigated through. Caring for my father during his illness up until his death, discovering that I was pregnant amidst that emotional turmoil, and transitioning from a leadership role to a caregiving one all reflect a prioritization of family and personal well-being over professional ambitions.
My perspective on balance now revolves around the understanding that life’s most meaningful moments often require sacrifices and adjustments. It’s about honoring what matters most at any given time and recognizing that balance isn’t always about equal distribution, but rather about meeting the needs of the moment with compassion and flexibility.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m passionate about capturing moments and telling stories through my art, especially with my background in photography and my journey on YouTube. What sets me apart is my dedication to authenticity and my ability to convey genuine emotions in my work. I take pride in my ability to create meaningful connections with my audience, whether it’s through a photograph or a video.
While my path to where I am today hasn’t been without its challenges, my love for storytelling and documenting life has always been my driving force. Starting my YouTube channel in 2019 was a pivotal moment for me, although consistency was initially a struggle amidst the busyness of life. However, I’m proud to say that I’m regaining my momentum and finding my groove once again.
Overcoming challenges has taught me the importance of perseverance and resilience. I’ve learned to embrace the ebbs and flows of creativity and to prioritize self-care amidst the demands of my craft. Each obstacle has been an opportunity for growth and learning.
What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that I’m committed to creating content that resonates with authenticity and sincerity. Whether it’s capturing cherished memories for my family or sharing stories on my YouTube channel, my goal is to inspire others to embrace the beauty of everyday moments and to find joy in storytelling.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
It’s funny that you asked this question, because my best friend of 20 years is coming into town this weekend! First and foremost, a visit to the World of Coca- Cola, aquarium, Martin Luther King Jr birth House& Church, and the Botanical Garden is a MUST!
Now, I’m a Mississippi native, so we enjoy cooking at home, but I’ve enjoyed dining at Gritz Brunch Bar in Douglasville, Ga, Atlanta Breakfast Club, marietta diner, Johnny T’s, Thumb Up Diner, and Bigger Staff Brewing. Something that we could do during the summer is enjoy Food Truck Tuesday in Taylor – Brawner Park that way she could try different restaurants.
We would also enjoy the farmer’s market, visiting local vineyards, thrifting, visiting local restaurants, and hiking in Stone Mountain.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost God, my family, fiancé, Sorority Sister and good ole YouTube University, have been pillars of strength, clarity, and love for me. With their unwavering support and presence, I’m able to bounce ideas, share strategies, and so much more!
